While I have not used these nippers on a horse, it has been used as a nipper for everything from zip ties to small wires. It cut through all the things that are too heavy for a pair of scissors. I may get around to using it on the horse one day.

It is a carpenters too. The blade is the wrong shape ie. not tapered steeply enough. This is why people are commenting that it isn’t very sharp.This design will do more crushing or pinching rather than cutting.

These animal nail nippers have become hard to find at our local feed stores recently and our nanny goats and billy were needing trimming. We ordered in this pair and they work very well and are plenty rugged and the goats are much happier after getting their hooves knocked back a bit.

These are NOT hoof nippers! This is a carpenters tool designed to remove, cut or clip off nails. This isn't designed for hooves.

I bought these to trim my goats' feet. They work well and the handles are a good size.
