Although I had both of my Original Key Fobs and both were working great as I am the original owner of my 2013 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab Truck, I thought at this price, I would really love to have an extra one just in case a fob battery died or I lost one. It would be great to have an extra either hidden in the truck or put in my safe at home. So I ventured and ordered these 2 key-fobs for my truck. When I received these new Key-Fobs, they looked and felt identical to my original OEM Nissan Brand fobs as you can see in my pictures. The only difference, was on the back of the fobs of the Nissan OEM fobs, that had some engraved or molded in writing on the original OEM Fobs. These new fobs from Amazon were very plain on the back, but the buttons, texture, color, and everything else looked, felt, and functioned exactly as the Nissan OEM fobs. The buttons even had the same pressure or feel when pressed. I was very pleased when I received and opened my package. They did NOT feel cheap or inferior in any way. These new Key-Fobs also came with new batteries already installed. So they were ready to be programmed as soon as I took them out of the package.Additionally, these new key fobs also came with new split-ring key chain rings and an instruction card that directs you to a web site that has instructions for your vehicle.I have included comparison pictures of both my Original Nissan Fobs and also of these new fobs so that you can see in my pictures, that there is really no visible difference with the color, texture, layout design, or buttons. In the pictures, the Original Nissan Fobs have my keys attached to them. The Fobs with no keys attached to them are the fobs that this review is about. You can see that they look identical from the front.I must say, after doing a little research, I read that some instructions say that some vehicles may need to have these fobs programmed by a lock-smith. That made me a little nervous as lock-smiths can be expensive and what is the advantage of buying these online and then needing to visit a locksmith store? But I took the chance and bought them anyways regardless of what an incapable person may have said. The negative person who wrote that was absolutely wrong. Well at least for my vehicle. These key fobs could not have been any easier to program and there are plenty of easy-to-understand Youtube videos explaining how to program these fobs to your vehicle. I watched a few of those videos (each were only about 2 minutes long) and I took this instruction sheet (attached below) out to my truck. After watching the Youtube videos and taking these instructions to my truck, I successfully programmed my 2 new fobs and they really do function EXACTLY as the Original Nissan OEM Fobs. The Door “Lock” function, the “Un-lock” function, the red Panic Button and the back seat un-lock function worked perfectly on both fobs after programming which took me less than 5 minutes to complete. The pictures that I have attached here are of my original Nissan Key Fobs (with keys attached), the fobs that I am reviewing here (are with no keys attached) a jpeg image of the instruction sheet so that you can print it out and take it to your vehicle with you, and the business sized card (front and back) that is included with brief explanations and FAQ’s and the web site address to obtain specific instructions for your vehicle.Replacement batteries are inexpensive and easy to find. The replacement battery size/model is CR2025Below are the actual instructions for my truck – A 2013 Nissan Frontier SV Crew Cab and these instructions apply to many more Nissan vehicles also. These instructions are what I used along with watching 2 short youtube videos before I started.Step by Step How to Programming Instructions:IMPORTANT: Before entering programming mode, have in possession all of the transmitters you will be using on the vehicle. Once you program the transmitter, all previous codes will be erased from the memory. The other transmitters will not be functional until you program the transmitters again. I had all 4 transmitters (fobs) in hand. I had my 2 original OEM Fobs and also the 2 new fobs that I am reviewing here along with my Original ignition key that is required.1. Close and lock all doors with the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch.2. Insert key into ignition and remove it from the ignition key cylinder at least six times within 10 seconds (in and out - in and out repeated 6 to 12 times in 10 seconds). Your Hazard Lamps will flash if you have performed this step successfully. NOTE: Withdraw key completely from ignition cylinder each time. If this procedure is performed too fast, system will not enter programming mode.3. Insert key into the ignition cylinder and turn to the ACC position .4. Within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the remote transmitter. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. NOTE: Do not press the button more than one time in the above step. If the button is pressed more than one time, the programming procedure will not be successful.5. If there are any remaining transmitters (including the old ones), unlock then lock all doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch and within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the next remote. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. Repeat this step for each transmitter (including any existing transmitters).6. Turn the key to the OFF position then remove keys from the ignition. Unlock the doors using the driver's side power unlock/lock switch and open the drivers side door.Instructions state that even if your original key and remote were separate, you can upgrade to a key with built-in remote buttons.

These were a perfect 1 to 1 replacement for my factory Nissan remote. They were easy to program, just a couple of steps and done. Much more reasonably priced compared to genuine Nissan remotes.

I lost one of the OEM key fobs for my 2015 Nissan Frontier and checked with various dealers and other places. They all wanted significantly more than I could afford for a set of replacement fobs. One night, unable to sleep, I came across these key fobs and thought, ah hockey pucks "Why not give them a try?"To my surprise, they look just like the ones the dealer provided, and they even come ready to program with the battery already installed. The button placements and the color of the plastic case closely resemble those of an original OEM key fob.Programming them was easy; after watching a short video online, I successfully programmed both fobs in just a few minutes. Now, the replacement key fobs work perfectly, just like my original set.I have no complaints and am really glad I found this alternative instead of ordering from a dealer or locksmith.
