The Liquid Stands 2-tier stand is a very affordable and useful keyboard stand...with a few modifications. It's a modular stand with pieces that assemble using bolts that can be easily removed without tools in case you need to store the stand out of the way. I really like that for my tight studio when I have to make room for other activities. At its shortest width, it's not wide enough to hold my Launchkey 49, so I added a wooden shelf on the bottom tier. That works great and provides additional room to set things next to the keyboard. The top stand can be adjusted to fit something as small as my Launchkey Mini or APC64. Currently I have my Minifreak on there and it sits on there great. You could also use it to hold a qwerty keyboard if you wanted. You could always add a board on the top tier as well to accommodate a variety of smaller controllers.I'm not an overly dynamic keyboard player and the stand is totally comfortable for me in terms of its side to side stability. It moves a little, but not a lot and it's not distracting. For someone who likes to pound the keys, maybe look elsewhere. But then you'll also be paying a lot more money. The biggest flaw I found is that the stand is top heavy and wants to fall backwards with just a little nudge. This is a problem with or without adding the load from a keyboard. It's simply too precarious to trust. At first I had planned to return the stand because I couldn't trust it to hold my keyboards without falling backwards. It turns out that Liquid Stands is aware of this problem and they sell foot extensions that bolt onto the back feet of the stand (search amazon for "Liquid Stands Piano Stand Extender for Extra Security and Durability for 2-Tier Keyboard Stand"). They are very secure and solve the instability problem. BUT I had to take time to research a solution and then I had to buy this as an extra item for $20. It's clear that Liquid Stands went to the trouble to engineer and fabricate these extensions (they are well made). Why not build the stand correctly from the start. Or include the extensions in the kit? Instead they send you a stand without extensions that could destroy your gear if you're not careful. I think that's pretty shameful.Overall, once I installed the stabilizers, this became a very good stand. It gets the job done and it looks good in my studio. Just be prepared to add some mods to keep your gear safe.

Love this stand! I wish it had one more tier though. I tried to add an extension for a music stand but not successful yet.

I bought the stand and the 2nd tier. The assembly instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The stand is sturdy and very configurable. Their youtube channel is very valuable, it's there i found and later ordered the leg extenders. With the 2nd tier the stand can be a little back heavy, the leg extenders make a better foot print adding more stability. Bravo Liquid Stands!!
