Assembly was a bit wonky, the screws were very tight. That said, it was nice once it was put together.

I have a figure 8 layout with trestles on one end. Unless I ran the Polar Express train at a moderate speed it tended to stop dead just as it started up the trestle. Substituting this for the track at the beginning of the incline added sufficient stiffness to the layout so now I can run the train at fairly low speeds with no hesitation on its part whatsoever. So it did more for my layout than just add some atmosphere. I'm happy with it.

This covered bridge is awesome for the price. I kit bashed mine and painted it weathered red the results were very good. This bridge does require assembly but for me that made it much easier to paint. The screws are small so be carful when assembling don’t torque them down to far in the plastic so the holes don’t strip. Very nice LED lighting installed that is bright. The bridge looks awesome and I could not be happier with my purchase..

I found this simple bridge to be both sturdy and a relatively good value. Lionel brand accessories tend to be on the expensive side but this one is an inexpensive way to add a little something to a basic layout. The bridge comes in three pieces but assembles in minutes. The base plate is metal and the sides are a sturdy plastic. Each side takes 4 tiny screws and once you have them aligned they assemble quickly and easily. Please note the screws are very tiny and they are a little tough to screw in. Be careful as they are easy to strip if you aren't careful. Once the bridge is assembled you just slip it under a standard straight track. We have Fast Track on our set and it snaps into the bridge perfectly. Now out Thomas the Train Christmas tree layout has a little something extra without a major cost!
