Definitely works underwater but the beam of light is extremely narrow and not very bright

Awsome output with nice runtime. Turbo mode is BRIGHT for something of this size but is limited to 5 min before stepdown. Turbo mode is nice to have but high is bright enough for most situations. The light is pretty floody which is fine for a headlamp. There is some throw but don't expect to be using it as a spot light. The interface takes a little bit of getting used to but once you do, you will be able to access and customize all your different modes. Lamp is light enough and the headband is comfortable but some have complained it's not stable enough when you go jogging/biking. Never went jogging/biking so I can't comment but works for anything else where you're not bouncing around. Overall great build and one of the best headlamps out there.

I've only had this light for a few weeks so I can not speak about the longevity. This light is extremely bright, compact, and well made. There are only two draw backs as far as I'm concerned. The first is that the light uses the 18650 battery (can not use 2 X CR123A). This seems to be a relatively new battery package which is only cheaply available through Ultra-fire or other Chinese brands. It is hard to find (for a reasonable price) good quality versions of this battery like Panasonic, which doesn't grossly over rate their batteries capabilities. The other issue is that if the light was last left on in turbo mode (high 1, 750lm) and the battery does not have enough life to support this mode then the next time the light is turned on, it will go into the medium mode and not into the second high mode (high 2, 420lm). In order to get the light back into the second high mode, one would have to put a fresh battery in, switch the light from high 1 to high 2 mode, then put back the original battery. This of course can be avoided by just never putting the light into turbo mode (high 1, 750lm). These two relativity small issues are the only reason this light does not get a solid 5 stars.

I've owned several XML flashlights before including the mighty Nitecore TM11 and the long throwing Crelant 7G5. This zebralight is absolutely TINY compared to these two. However I was truly surprised by its output, it delivers a massive flood with strong spot. Pattern is much like my TM11, this is certainly not a thrower, but it will perform well in a 50' distance.I use this mainly as headlamp for working in my car. And the ability to adjust lighting angle at anytime is perfect. I used to hang my TM11 with the hood open, but that was not convenient at all. Others headlamp I've tried are either too bulky, or nor bright enough for night work.Pros:-UI is very easy to learn yet delivers modes for all needs including a 0.1LM low.-Perfect size and weight for headlamp.-Headlamp strap is included, and it's not a cheap one. Very high quality parts.-Good beamshot pattern, no artifacts-Pure white tint, not blue not green-Top notch efficiency in it's class-Again: it's tiny, same size as a regular AA flashlight.-Coated glass-Very solid build, flawless Hard anodization.Cons:-Does get hot fast in highest mode due to small heat dissipation area.-Strobe is pretty useless at 4hz, would like a beacon mode instead.-Doesn't take 2xCR123 batteries, be prepared to have spare 18650.-Belt clip is not included, but it is possible to use one from another light,For the convenience, price and performance this will be the light I'd recommend for anyone looking for the best in $80 range. Get some good 3100mah batteries and you are more than prepared for a camping trip!!
