Real pretty, but not practical. You can get scalded with hot steam/ water because of the location of how you control valve on the spout, it’s on the spout and not incorporated into the handle like most tea kettles.

I adore this kettle! The only thing that bothered me about it was the fact that there was hardly a whistle!I kept telling myself that I can deal with that because I don't leave my kitchen when I am boiling something.Well...I did leave because today, forgetting that the kettle was on the stovetop.Since there is barely if any whistle I walked into the living room to deal with an emergency and the kettle was boiling . Not a good thing...My lovely kettle is ruined! I just put it in the trash with (luckily) nothing horrible resulting, other than a kettle that I loved being trashed. I just ordered another on Amazon and I decided to write this review.The whistle is way too quiet! If you are right on top of the stove area, no problem. If you are not... that's another story!This lovely kettle must be watched carefully !I ordered another kettle and I really can't afford to do that, but ''trashing'' my kettle was so sad that I had todo something! A replacement will arrive in a few days, but it's very frustrating to have this occur.Just wanted to ''vent'' my loss and frustration!G Michael

I had this kettle for years and was using it fairly frequently. I recently bought a lead testing kit and this kettle tested positive for lead. If you get this kettle please test the INSIDE coating before use. Unfortunately i had to throw it out. I ended up buying an electric Cosori kettle instead.
