One of the best EDC purchases I’ve ever made. However, to be completely honest, it’s not perfect out of the box. But with a bit of ingenuity, you can make it work. I’ve read quite a few reviews about the scissors, and I took that into serious consideration as I was specifically looking for a Leatherman for scissors. It was mentioned that the pivot screw doesn’t have a good clamp or is too loose, causing the scissors to fold open while cutting certain materials. Despite this, I still bought one based on the thousands of positive testimonials. Surprisingly, it’s much smaller than I thought, smaller than a key fob.To address the issue, I used a small ball pin hammer (2oz) to round the set screw a bit more, which eliminated the flop. Then, I individually placed each scissor blade in my small vise and gently bent the very tips together by about a degree. Now, they feel incredible! I can cut things with the tip of the scissors with incredible precision.Even though I did the final quality control check at home, I couldn’t give it 4 stars. It’s still an amazing EDC item, and definitely worth the investment.

This is probably the fourth or fifth Leatherman micra that I have had. The last one ended up falling somewhere in the body of my car unretrievable. And all the other ones ended up with TSA or some other theatrical security outfit afraid that I might maliciously trim someone’s nose hairs.After my last one ended up in the body of my car, I tried to cheap out and get the Gerber dime micro tool. The quality of steel between the two tools, in the general fitment of the products are vastly different. I have never bent any of the tools on my micras; I use these as tools, not just cleaning out under my fingernails and opening letters.I decided this time to get a red one rather than plain stainless steel. (roll tide). The paint, powder coat, whatever it is seems really, really well adhered and strong. The knife blade is extremely sharp out of the box, as are the scissors. The file surface is actually useful for filing metal as well as fingernails.I highly recommend the Leatherman micra As in every day carry pocket tool.
