I used this to revive a Panasonic Palmcorder PV-D209. It expects 6V, so a 5-cell holder like this is perfect for using 1.2V Ni-MH batteries. (The old battery was Ni-Cd, which made me think lithium wouldn't be an ideal substitute. From what I can tell, the Nicads should produce a stable voltage like Ni-Cd, though I haven't checked it with a meter. It works, anyway. Plus, I like the AA form factor, and lithum AAs seem to be expensive and crap compared to Ni-MH. Especially since you can get super high-end 2450mAhAA Ni-MHs for a song at Ikea, called LADDA. Alkaline AAs are of course garbage and are straight out, I've even tried it).I'm not sure exactly how long I get out of this setup, but it's more than an hour. I didn't even have to solder anything or make a proper connector, because the battery contacts on the camcorder can be pulled up to reveal a perfectly sized hole to stick the holder leads through. And the space is just about the same size, with the battery holder only sticking out slightly on one side. It's like the camera was designed for this mod. Way cheaper and easier than rebuilding the old battery pack. And it's really lucky these things are available anywhere, 5 cells seems to be pretty niche.The only negative I can think of is the fit is pretty tight, and at first I had trouble getting the batteries in and out of the first/last positions. It seems to have broken in, though, and I'm glad they're snug in there. Also, it's as much a function of the Ni-MHs being chunkier than the standard Alkaline AAs as of the dimensions of the holder. The camcorder also doesn't understand how much juice is left in the batteries anymore and blinks that it's low after about 10 minutes, but that's hardly the holder's fault.

Used to convert game camera from standard AA batteries to rechargeable. 8 AA to 10 rechargeable was required. This 2 pack did the job with minor alterations to the existing battery compartment. Works great. Recharging the batteries is way better than buying new ones every time the voltage drops.
