They don`t come on their shelf you have to turn on they do have a timer

This lamp is great! I adore the cordless and rechargeable aspects of this lamp. It helps to add light where maybe a cord can't reach or if a cord is unsightly. It is strong metal and plastic. The touch on/off switch is easy to use and the temperature (warm, cool) is nice for ambiance. They go with many decor types and are so functional.

I first saw lamps just like this one at a fun local bar/restaurant. They were used on the outdoor high top tables and I loved the look of them. I also enjoyed having cocktails and horsderves by the light they provided. It's similar to having a candle on a table but provides even better light to see what's on the table, yet less light in your face. The lampshade ends up at approximately head height so you're not staring into a bright light, but it does light the surrounding area beneath it and above it.The lampshade, post, and base are metal. They seem very durable. The lamp is easy to charge. It is easy to turn on, you just tap the top of the lampshade. Very easy to operate touch control. To change colors, just tap again. To increase or decrease the brightness just hold instead of tapping. The remote control can also do all these functions and additionally you can set a timer to automatically shut the light off after 15, 30, 60 or 120 minutes.I was excited to find these available for purchase after enjoying them at the restaurant. I have been using ours out on our lanai to provide just enough light for a nice relaxed ambiance. So easy to move around to wherever you'd like a little light.Note, this is just about 15" tall. It is an ACCENT lamp, not a full size lamp. It provides nice mood lighting. You can sit at a table and read or write by the light it provides if it is near you, but if on a nightstand it doesn't put out enough light to be able to read by in bed because you're a little too far away and the lampshade will block the light you need because of it's height.

This is a reasonably nice accent lamp for an entryway table or other location in the home where a small amount of light is helpful for ambiance. It looks nice in my entryway, and it puts out just enough light to be able to see the tabletop and floor. It has three different settings for tone of the light, and I like the warm yellowish light the best by far. The remote also allows you to control the timer, which is nice for having the light go off automatically at the end of the evening. The light is not bright enough to be used for paperwork or at a desk. My main complaint about the lamp as an accent piece is that the top of the lamp doesn't look great. Rather than having a sleek metal top like the rest of the lamp, the top is backlit white plastic with a large power button icon. This makes the lamp look a bit cheap and less attractive.
