I love these ZIG Clean Colour Real Brush pens. Colour on end of pen not always accurate. Therefore, I highly recommend swatching a 1" square of each colour onto a piece of Arches watercolour paper, and adhering a small circular punched swatch onto the lid using a Mini Glue Dot. This enables you to see the accurate colour at a glance. It takes a bit of time, (faster if you batch the steps), but saves a lot of future colour guessing, and colour checking. Steps - 1. Swatch 1/2 of a 1" square on Arches using the brush pen masstone. 2. Using a damp brush with clean water, swatch the other 1/2 of the Arches paper by drawing colour out from the masstone 1/2 to obtain a lighter value 3. Punch out a circle from the two value colour swatch using 1/4" hole punch. Try to centre the value transition line in the middle of the circle. 4. Stick circle onto a (3/16" /0.5 cm) Mini Glue Dot. 5. Stick the glue dot with the colour swatch onto the end of the lid. Make sure you centre it, and push down to ensure it's securely attached. 6. Use the leftover 1" painted colour swatches to make a separate colour swatch reference booklet. NOTE - If comparing my lid colour swatches to the commercial numbered listing swatches, follow the 3 rows starting front, L to R, R to L, and L to R. Last 2 photos show all 180 colours. My journey with these special wc-type brush pens continues, now with the 30 additional colors in "Set A".This collection leans heavily towards the earthy, smokey greens, yellow-greens and a large percentage of earthy, grayish plums, with just a couple each of earthy blues, browns and peachy pinks. All beautiful, unique colors but just be aware that this is not, imho, a 'starter' set of colors; it's a unique add-on set which I am adding onto the 90-color collection.All of the 30-color sets (A, B & C) colors are light, dark, cool and warm variations of the already extensive color collection in the 90 colors set, divided into themes...Set A is basically dark, mostly earthy grey-greens, greyish plums and greenish-greys. There are also a few earthy reds and pinks, even a couple grayed blues.Set B is every color blue and green you can imagine, for landscape and marine themed creations...Set C is the newest, warmer colors, mostly warm yellows, reds, oranges and some browns and pinks. There are also 3 more dark violet/plum colors.For me personally, these are all over-kill, but I am addicted and in-love with such a wide selection of color tones for my art pieces. When I finally add the last set, it will be 180 -pens! (Truth be told, with so many nuances there a few colors that appear the same as others... only a few, though. If it becomes too many, that is when I'll stop for good!!)I agree with other reviewers that these pens are unique and require a slight, but very fun, learning curve to use them properly, and that a waterbrush and good quality wc paper are crucial. I also think that because it can get pricey, and confusing if buying a large collection, repeat colors are a drag. So it is essential to keep a log of both color numbers & names as well as a swab book/sheets for easy painting reference and to compare against sets you might be considering in the future..The Kuretake Store page on Amazon has a great (but kinda hard to find) reference chart showing anat-a-glance view of how the different sets are built and by which add-on sets. Just scroll all the way to the bottom of the Clean Color Real Brush page by clicking on it on the homepage... You are gonna love them all, I hope! Happy Painting!!!
