When attempting to play this guitar. The guitar had more buzz than Snoop Dog. It sounded as of a nose harp.

Great guitar for the price. The neck needed to be adjusted by the truss rod and the pickups needed height adjustment too. So expect to do, or pay for a setup and you got a great guitar.Took me 30 minutes to get it all dialed in.Floyd rose trems are a bit tricky to get in tune but try tuning in from the outside strings. The frets are a little sharp on the edges if you run your fingers on them but playing wise they don't bother me. My second guitar of the same model.

I bought the Kramer Assault 220FR early in January 2014. The craftsmanship and quality of this guitar are stunning! It holds its own against my 2005 Les Paul Custom, and for weight and mobility tops it. After un-boxing it the only thing I did was to tune a half-step down. The neck pick-up needs a slight adjustment from the factory setting to get more gain. Kramer's web site indicates that the fretboard is rosewood, but it feels, looks, plays and sounds like ebony (my hot-rod'ed '91 Jackson RR1 and Les Paul Custom for comparison). It has great tone, loads of harmonics and more shredding-power than I though possible from a guitar in its price range. And I got it for half-price! I currently own eight guitars and the Assault 220FR is the best buy I have found in 40 years.

While this Kramer is a extremely great sounding guitar, I was a little upset at the fit and finish of the frets and the fine tuning screws of the Licensed Floyd rose.First the frets: They had shapened edges. You could feel them digging into your fingers everytime you would slide your fingers up and down the fretboard. Not cool.... I had to order a Luthiers file to take the edges down. Now it is playable.Second: the fine tuning screws do not have a full range of adjustability... by that I mean you cannot screw them all the way down to adjust the pitch. They start to get extremely tight, you also cannot turn them out to the full threaded stops either to drop pitch. At as guess I would say that the threads need to be recut with a tap... just got to find the right one for that job.I have had many Floyd Rose's and you normally can adjust them all the way in and all the way out... not with this one on my guitar I'm afraid...If you ignore these gripes the guitar is great for the money spent.
