Having to go to the pro shop every time I want to replace my inserts is a pain. Bought this tool along with my finger inserts and so glad I did. Works great and allows me to do the job myself quickly and easily. If you're serious about ball maintenance, you need one of these.

This works well for changing out the finger grips in my bowling balls. It's not the most comfortable on the hand when using it though.

Was looking for a way to remove finger inserts that was faster and cleaner than the usual method of digging them out with a screwdriver or similar tool. Decided to try this one even though it is vastly overpriced (as many specialty bowling items are). Seems well-built. A couple things to point out. First, finger hole sizes are not always exactly the same. E.g., a driller can get carried away with the hole sander and/or drill bits get worn and smaller over time. I tried this first on an older ball and it cut in and made a very small ridge on one side. A couple of small pushes in with a sliding joint plyers did the trick. Then I tried it on a newer ball, and when placing the tool on top of the finger inserts, discovered it was too small and would have cut into the rubber of the finger grip. Again, a couple of tugs out with a plyers did the trick. Second, the cutting edges are not sharp at all, which I'm assuming is done for legal / safety reasons. I took a small file and added an edge (make sure the edge faces inward so the longest part is outside). All-in-all, a nice little tool to have. The inserts definitely come out faster and with less damage, and there is less residue on the walls of the holes.
