I love it BUT if it's made in Japan why does it come from China? giving it a 3 stars for false advertising.. Its worth 5 for functionality though

Great unit. Plumb dots are such a great added feature and the green beam is so much better than red in daylight. Would recommend this product especially for the average DIY person wanting good quality without the massive price tag.

Works really well, removes scales easily without them popping up or flying out of the sink.Pros:- solid brass head, this will last a long time- good design, the scaler is flat and the blades that remove the scales are horizontal so it does not cut into the fish skin or tear delicate areas- easy to use- easy to clean- well made- made in JapanCons:- it is more expensive than othersIt does have a wood handle. This does not bother me and I like it but others may not. The head is well mounted but I am sure you could replace the handle if you are handy

This level is well made and quite heavy. The laser line works well for some quick checks, but it's not really a replacement for a good self leveling line laser and tripod. Still it has it's use cases, for example I use it to quickly run around and check window/door heads for level to see if I can use jigs for marking out (need level head) or if I need to drag out the tripod and laser line level. Also, the vials cannot be used when the level is on it's side to produce a plumb line. While the vials are there, the line is so far out of plumb that I don't believe it is an intended use of the LBL100.

Full disclosure: I already own a (red) Klein laser of the same type, and my impressions are mostly from that laser. Aside from the different colored laser diode, this laser is identical in every way, it just depends on what laser color you want. I purchased this green laser for better outdoor visibility.Pros:- It's Easy to calibrate this laser model. It's well designed to easily remove the clamshell and reach the axis adjustment screws on the laser pendulum (just make sure the pendulum is locked before opening the clamshell). I've done calibration adjustments on many other laser models of different brands, and this is one of the easiest to do it with, very little hassle.- This laser (both red and green models) is nearly identical to a Dewalt model that costs far more. Don't get sucked into brand loyalty, this is the same hardware, in a different package, for less money.- Durable construction that is entirely dust-proof and mostly waterproof, the clamshell has a gasket inside it to prevent water ingress from rain or water splashes.Cons:- Would be nice to be able to use the laser in the locked position (for laying out handrails or whatever). You may be able to modify the laser to do this, but it should be a standard feature on every cross-line laser.- Red diode for the plumb laser is a bit odd, but it's not a significant issue, I assume it was to cut the cost of the laser while retaining features. I've never reached such a height from the laser where I can't see the red vertical dot, that's beyond the range that you should be using a plumb laser, anyways.I'm a professional who uses laser levels every day, and I recommend the Klein laser models to everybody looking to buy a laser. If you're trying to buy something in the $100-$300 range, I think this offers the best value of any brand or model.
