Working great so far. Family has loved this as a replacement to our old stuff. Regular use, normal weight, good build quality, durable so far as long as we don’t burn them, very good price for this one. Regular true to size.

I have a couple of Kitchen Aid utensils already and I loved the quality of them. I needed to replace the old, cheaply made utensils in our travel trailer, and began looking for some quality items. When I had the chance to get these I jumped on it. This set is basic, but the quality is exceptional. We have used the spatula while cooking on our Blackstone and they work perfectly. I have also used the spoons with cast iron and they have performed as well as metal. The can opener is great and doesn't skip spots around the can lid. I could not be more pleased with this utensil set, it is everything I was looking for. It may cost a little more than most plastic utensil sets, but this set definitely has KitchenAid quality. This set would be great for a camping kitchen, an outdoor kitchen, someone who is just starting out and has nothing for their kitchen, or for someone who wants to replace old and worn out utensils with something new.

When I get ready to buy something (gender stereotyping alert - like most men I go out to ‘buy’ not to ’shop’) I try to think through the question of “what problem am I trying to solve by spending money?” That is, what are the use-cases I need to address. For this review, here are the use-cases I’m addressing:1. Outfitting a first kitchen - starting from scratch, setting up a new household. Just moved into ‘adult’ housing, got married, well past the couch-surfing stage and are settling down.2. Updating a fossilized collection of kitchen tools - maybe it’s been years since you thought about kitchen tools (and entropy has taken charge), or you’ve merged two (or more?) households and are looking at rationalizing a pile of tools of variant lineage—and want a clean kitchen-start.PROSolidly built and should last a good whileWell thought-out selection of basic toolsWon’t scratch non-stick pots & pansCONCould use a medium sized strainer (to go with the whisk)Bare-bones kitchen kit (see below for recommended enhancements)Rating: 5 - excellent on all counts, very professional productThis 16-piece from KitchenAid does a very good job of handling both of these cases. The tools provided are a solid base of measuring, mixing, stirring, cooking. Solid handles, thick gauge, everything non-stick and non-abrasive, dishwasher safe…the list is complete for the basic range of kitchen tasks. Well-designed and suited-to-purpose in all aspects.I’m especially interested in the KitchenAid vegetable peeler. I’m good with the skeletal style shown (same design model as the camper-validated P-38 can opener), but look forward to a better handle and serrated blade.Tourist aside: when I moved to NYC in the late 90’s there was a nicely-dressed gentleman (notable by his quasi-British accent) who’d set up on a well-trafficked street corner, sitting on an up-turned milk crate, with a bucket of potatoes and carrots and proceed to wow the gathering crowd with his patter and simultaneous ability to peel said vegetables at hyper-speed. All the while regaling the crowd with a narration of his product’s virtues and how a simple purchase could make your life SO MUCH BETTER. Somewhere between product demonstrator and busker, good at both. NB: I bought one…mid-Western transplant rite of passage, I guess. Never could be as good at peeling as he was, but worth the $1 for the experience.Shopping to complete the kitchen, minus pots & pans:• 8-inch Chef Knife• 6-inch Utility Knife• 4-inch Paring Knife• 10.25-inch Bread Knife• Kitchen Scissors• Good table-top knife sharpener• Large Collander• 6-inch Hand Strainer

This KitchenAid Universal Tool and Gadget Set overall is amazing! It also has some stand out prices that I have yet to find this type of quality in a single much less something that comes in a set!First off the can opener! This is an excellent can opener! It glides to cut and is comfortable! The peeler is amazing! It's sharp and you will not regret this! It very well may be the best peeler I have yet to use! The mixer is amazing! Sturdy and easy to use! I love the measuring cups as well as the spoons ladels and spatulas! All around this set is a winner! You will not be disappointed! Worth every penny! First "set" that each and every piece is quality! Backing up my words, the photo of the spoon that I added is not a brand new spoon, it is actually about 3 months old, and has definitely been broken in! They are heat resistant! I've yet to have a piece flake or melt or burn!We highly recommend!
