I have tried for the past two days to complete one of the animals within the kit but have yet to get passed the first stage. The video instruction is hard to follow and it does not have enough explaining as to what is happening.Additionally, the yarn is made of multiple strings and the hook provided is thinner than the yarn causing it to open up when hooking through.

This set is a great starter set for your young one to learn to crochet. The little animals are fun to learn on and give a cute little first project.

This kit is the same materials or way to similar for me to tell the difference between this one and another that I reviewed.Everything you need is in the kit.The quality of the yarn was not really good. It untwined right out of the package.The instructions were clear and detailed. In fact I plan on using them to make more with yarn I already have. This would not be a kit for children to use. Though if an adult uses this kit and get a child their own materials the two could learn together. This is a really good kit for adults to learn on.

I haven't made all of the animals yet, but I've made some and the ones I have made have been super cute, easy to make, and soft and cuddly. I made my nephew a turtle because his mom's nickname is turtle, and they loved it! The pattern was easy for me to follow, but it might have been a little harder for a true beginner to follow. I have a little more experience, and I like to test these patterns to see how they'll work out for true beginners. I also really like the convenience of the kits. I've started to see some more advanced kits, but it's also just nice to see whatever it is you want to make all conveniently packaged together. It also makes a great gift for someone who is either already interested in crochet or whom you think might be. However, this one in particular might need to utilize the video as the written instructions can get a little confusing.

I really like this set. It included everything you need to complete all the animals except for scissors to cut the yarn. The hook is very small, so this will be a bit challenging for beginners, but with practice (or a bigger hook) they will get it. The set comes with stitch markers, eyes, and a needle to weave in the ends. The yarn is colorful and works fine with the hook. The instructions are very detailed and include pictures and video, but it would be hard for beginners without help from someone who knows how to crochet or a few extra YouTube videos for technique. The animals come out super cute so it's worth it.
