I have purchased 2 of these. First one lasted about 2 years of very frequent use. Casts well and surprisingly well built for the price.

I had purchased this reel previously from the Academy store and really liked it, so I bought another one from Amazon. The reel cast smoothly and worked very well. I purchased size 10 (smallest one) for trout and crappie fishing. So far it worked very well for catching trout. I will soon be trying it out on crappie, but I believe it will do just fine. I would buy it again.

Are these the strongest, smoothest, best around? No. But let’s be honest, they are fantastic for the price point. Did a fishing trip with kids all under 7, gabbed a few of these to use on the coast and they worked great. Gave them a rinse every once in a while and bingo… we’re off fishing.
