We inherited a cockamamie new fangled bathroom dual shower controller - where turn one way for the portable unit that sticks on the wall and when you turn the other way it turns on the waterfall head from heaven. Well, twice heaven turned into a hellish experience when randomly the top shower started on it's own. It is possible the handle was just a smidge in the wrong place but it definitely started on its own hours later. We don't want the top waterfall and so I bought this so that I could ensure that if the top starts up, it will not go further than this unit.It stated not to use the teflon tape but without it, water kept coming out of the unit. Once the tape was on, all works fine. The valve is now off and I can add the waterfall head again.I will advise of any concerns.

Excellent quality. Used on 1/2 inch OD chrome plated brass supply tubes (about 7/16 ID) to clawfoot tub faucet. The original valves, which cost about $50, were same style but slip-joint from a dif mfgr. After MORE THAN one blow out of the connection, I had enough, and I got these compression joint valves. Will NEVER use a slip-joint rubber cone gasket type valve again! These Keeney fit perfectly and have a good chrome finish. Look great. Thanks Keeney!UPDATE: After examining the chrome supply tubes, one (the one that kept blowing out) had the EPDM cone washer damaged from sitting askew when it was tightened. Damage could be seen on the washer from seating crookedly. In other words, the slip-joint is probably OK if PROPERLY installed. However, lack of faith in it has led me to keep the Keeney valves with compression fit as a backup for when/if the stainless braided hoses I replaced them with fails in the future.

After replacing the flapper, I went to turn the water back on and managed to bust the valve...lol. This one worked great.

Very high quality 1/4 turn valve. Clean threads, went on to old galvanized pipe easily and didn't leak or break. Firm but easy to turn 1/4 turn valve handle. Not much more you can ask for out of a shut off valve. As a maintenance contractor for several apartment complexes and rental properties for the last 20+ years I've replaced dozens of shut off valves.

Worked fine on my threaded pipe for a bathroom sink faucet. Not a lot for my wrench to grab onto (just 2 little flat areas, one on each side) but it worked. The only tool I needed for the install was an adjustable wrench. Oh, and a bucket and towel. (If this is your first time don't forget to turn off the water where it comes into the house and run the faucet until it stops.)The quarter turn valve is an improvement over my old valves, and the overall quality seems okay but it's hard to tell with the chrome coating. I've got two of these on another sink that have lasted several years now.Still, from experience I recommend a water alarm under every sink in the house. I've had good luck with the GE Personal Security Water Leak Alarm available on amazon.
