The 3 little pins that grab into the holes need to be shortened with a file if the protection of the CV Boot is tin (1mm thickness), otherwise the grease will go out trough the gap.

The CV Boot Clamp was a great find—simple, cheap, and surprisingly effective. I have since driven to Italy from the UK with one I fitted using wire cutters and its all in place still!I was initially worried about handling it on my own, but the clamp turned out to be really easy to use. It installed quickly and held the CV boot securely in place, even after some challenging drives. For the price, I wasn’t expecting much, but this clamp did exactly what it needed to without any hassle. It’s durable and stays tight, providing excellent value for anyone needing a quick, affordable solution for securing a CV boot. Highly recommended for DIYers or anyone needing a reliable fix!

Rebuilding drive shafts and steering racks this tool is what you need. I after playing with it found it to be the easiest to use.. It wraps the band tight and its not hard on your hands either.Sturdy and budget friendly.Clamps are a plus.I would buy it again.

I purchased these to rebuild the CV joints on my '05 Honda Element. These are the "Oetiker" design and work great but you must use the proper clamping tool and not just a set of side cutters. They are as thick as the factory equivalent (which are the external CV joints only) and nearly as wide which is an important factor. I have included two photos; one of the inboard CV joint (which has a softer factory neoprene boot) and two of the outboard CV joint (which has a harder thermo-plastic boot). Due to the harder nature of the thermoplastic boot, factory-original boots cannot be easily reinstalled and clamped in the usual sense with aftermarket clamps or you will get grease leaks. These were as close as I could get. To improve the sealing effort, I used a small hammer and drove a "step" in the clamp at the point where there is an overlap - that is where the grease leakage will occur if you try to reclamp the factory thermoplastic boots. This step can be seen in the photos. I also had to cut off excess length. The only problem I found was that the hooks face downward and tend to want to "pop out" when installing. This was especially a problem with the small-diameter clamps. You have to carefully inspect the clamp to ensure all three hooks are fully seated into each of their slots.Pros: Thicker gauge metal and a wider band than other aftermarket/universal clamps and three hooks to ensure tight clamping tension. Very nearly the same width as the factory clamps. Compared with the expensive OEM Honda boot kits, this is a very economical option for the mechanic/DIY'er.Cons: The hooks would be better on the underside facing upwards so that they don't "dig" into the boot material. Maybe future productions will include this improvement.
