Smart bulbs are a fun little novelty and these bulbs are also connected to Alexa and you can tell her to dim the lights or change the color of the light. Not a necessity but a whole lot of fun.

Way less expensive than Phillips Hue. App is challenging. Make sure to have bulbs near router when pairing. I used a small table lamp, instead of the ceiling light, and paired one bulb at a time.

These bulbs are bright. They also have 100% local network control. That is most important these days apart from it being a light source. I cannot stress enough how great it is there is no hub, and it is independently controllable from the local network. This needs to be the standard, apart from Matter. If I had to pick something to critique, it could be the setup. The device is already broadcasting its own network, why not make a simple captive portal to connect it to the WiFi? I understand most will use the Kasa app, but it would be nice to have a captive portal. The local network access is an advertised feature. Regardless, I'm quite happy with these bulbs.

These are the latest KASA smart items I use daily. I had to replace a set of Sengled bulbs that lost their "smarts" after a power outage. I missed voice control even though I could still switch them on. The "everything is made in the same fab in China, the only difference is the software" holds especially true here.KASA smart products are my favorite in my very smart house. Easy to set-up, made easier by virtue of the app already populated by the other KASA products, and their superior software that has never given me any problems with years of use and many different products.

This is my generations clapper lol. The first smartbulbs I ever saw were phillips brand, I couldn't afford as many phillips smart bulbs as I needed so I settled for regular light bulbs for a while. First black friday post move, I saw Kasa smartbulbs on sale and since they had good reviews I took a chance. I can afford phillips now but I really like the ease and functionality of the kasa bulbs. You do have to download the kasa app to set up the install (you have to connect em to wifi), but the instructions are easy to follow and you install the bulbs like any regular light bulb. They're energy efficient so they save me money, they change colors so I can set whatever mood I want, they are compatible with Alexa and Google home, and you can always control them off from the app.
