I really like these plates with the lip, and they can be put in a dishwasher, however, I cannot get them to stack one on top of the other in my cupboard. I took a plate from the stack, turned to place it on the kitchen island, and heard a crash. The stack of plates was tipped because they do not fit well together and one fell onto the counter. The plate didn’t break but I don’t want my tableware randomly falling out of the cupboard. This set cannot be used in a microwave to reheat food.

This Gufaith melamine dinnerware is perfect for anyone who wants stylish, durable plates & bowls without the worry of breakable pieces—or the expense. At first glance, they do sort of resemble ceramic or stoneware, and you wouldn't necessarily know they’re melamine until you pick them up. So, you can still have an elegant table setting for special occasions. Unlike the thin, flimsy plastic plates you might find at a dollar store, these are thick, sturdy, & virtually indestructible. They’re ideal for kids, travel, camping, or picnics. With a sleek, modern design & a deep lip, they keep sauces & other foods securely in place, minimizing spills.These dishes are scratch & stain resistant. Just this week, I really put them to the test with chili, spaghetti, veggie soup, & tacos; foods that typically stain other plastic or wheat-straw dinnerware. They washed clean without a single stain. I’ve also cut through pork chops & steaks on them without seeing any scratches or marks from the silverware. They’re dishwasher-safe but not microwave- or oven-safe (not that I’d ever put plates in the oven). Since they’re a type of plastic, it’s best to avoid exposing them to extreme heat.Both bowls & plates stack neatly in the cabinet, taking up minimal space. Each plate has a small ridge on the bottom that fits orderly into the lip of the plate below it. After years of seeing cracks & chips in my dinnerware, thanks to my boys tossing them carelessly into the sink, I love that these plates handle the rough treatment. They’d be especially handy if you have toddlers or young children who are still mastering their grip, or simply find it amusing to fling food on the floor 😄. These would also be fantastic for young adults staying in campus dorms, apartments or first time homeowners. I'll definitely be getting a set for my daughter who's away at college.Overall, I’m very pleased with this set.
