Nice product. Cooks eggs perfectly and good for steaming veggies. Only negative, it's horrible for rice.

I have steamers, but this one looked a little different, and ditial. I steam cooked 1 lg corn on the cob, 1 slice of salmon (pre-cooked), one mound of mash (pre-cooked) and on the lower tray, I laid multiple green sting beans in there to cook.I cooked it all for 20 min, then an additional 12 min. (The digital setting make it very easy.)Everything was perfect! I have to say, depending on what you cook, that this is for either single servings, or perhaps for two. If you need a steamer for many people, this is not the steamer for you.Operating it was very straight forward. You do need to wash/dry the heating plate as soon as you are done with it to avoid water spots.Simple, easy to use. Clean up was no big deal either. I'm happy in this regard.Con: It could be just a tad bigger, but it is what it is. (I prefer this to my other steamer.)The little needle to puncture an egg looks very small, but I have not tried it yet.So, full stars so far!

This is great. We had a larger vegetable steamer that was just too big for storage when not in use. This one is compact, yet steams enough vegetables for our family. It can even cook an egg to hard boil perfection. Highly recommend.

Very reliable. Plays music when done. Able to set timer. Love it!

Edited to add: i made rice this evening came out perfectly.I used a 1 qt Pyrex storage bowl. I imagine any microwave safe bowl that fits would be suitable.-1.5 cups of (jasmine) rice-1.5 cups of water.Prep your rice just like you would for stove top.Follow the manual instructions for setting up the steamer for rice.240 ml of water in the basin, set the function to Rice Cooking. Walk away.I added a pic.————————————————I decided to purchase THIS food steamer/ Egg cooker for 2 main reasons:1) I get distracted: a bad habit of starting the water to boil eggs. I come back and the water is gone OR i put the eggs in, forget and walk away…. Water is gone bottoms of eggs are brown.Solution: this has automatic shut off. Put your eggs/food in, add your water, set the function timer, walk away! (The done timer is loud)2) i wanted something a little more versatile if it was going to take up space in my kitchen.Solution: this has an additional tray and stacker thing to steam other stuff like vegetables and rice and allegedly meats (I’m a little apprehensive to try meats) it looks like you can make up to 3 servings of veggies in one tray, that’s just a guesstimate. This steamer came with everything pictured plus a measuring cup/ egg piercer. The owners manual has cooking time instructions. Not the clearest concerning rice, but based off the video; rice would have to go into a small bowl then set it on the cooking tray.I received mine promptly and used it within the hour to make hard boiled eggs and later at dinner to steam some broccoli.Eggs came out amazing!Broccoli was a little softer than i like. I’ll be trying 15 min next time instead of 20. 20 is probably perfect for harder veggies like carrots. This device is smaller than i imagined. I think the product pictures, depicting what looks like a whole chicken, are a little misleading. It’s probably a cornish hen, much smaller.I do wish it came with more trays like something to make cracked eggs, ie: omelets, small round scrambled or sunny side up.But it’s definitely not a deterrent and I suspect i have some heat safe dishes/bowls that could substitute perfectly well.If this dies in like a month or 2, i will update.
