True to size. If you want it to last, size up. The shirt was very thin but it did the trick. We used this for a project to re-create JFK in a live wax museum at school. The suit was a hit and my son was comfortable. Looked great, great length and loved the pieces it came with. It did the trick considering the time constraint we had. Definitely recommend.

I ordered this for a tall teenager. The material is decent for the price, but the fit is inconsistent. The jacket size is fine, but the white dress shirt sleeves are too short. Notice in the pictures that the sleeve does not exceed the jacket sleeve. On a correct fitting suit you would see the white sleeve protruding from the jacket sleeve about 1/2" or more. The pants are very long. So unless you have a kid with very long legs but short T-Rex arms, this won't work for your tall teen. But even your kid did have these dimenions the jacket sleeves would then be too long.The black bow tie is too small for this taller suit, but I suspect it would be ok for the smaller sizes. The other tie is not a real tie, unfortunately. And it too it undersized for this longer size suit.
