Worth every penny. Accurate, forgiving, powerful. My shots were better using this paddle by my fourth game, there is a learning curve.

I play a ton of pickleball and have many paddles. This one is certainly not worth the price. First at this price point you'd think you would get a cover but not from Joola lol. Second, the customer service is absolutely horrible. My paddles nfc wasn't working. Tried calling their customer service number but you can only leave a voicemail. Then I sent an email and got an automated response days later with no solution and no follow up since. Ended up just returning this paddle. For anyone that's reading this review and in the market for a paddle trust me on this and by a crbn paddle. They are so much better than this paddle slightly less expensive and you get a cover. Oh and their customer service is top notch.

I've been playing pickleball now for about 7 years. My mixed DUPR rating is 4.8. Women's double is about 4.4. I'm not much of a singles player. I'm a 40's female. My main paddle is a Holbrook Power Pro, and I am partly sponsored by them. However, in the past, I have played with several original Joola Hyperions (Ben Johns and Simone Jardine). I've also played with Vatic Pros, and Paddletek. My style of play is mostly defensive. I'm a defensive specialist, and I pair up well with offensive players in doubles. Why is all that important to this review? Here's why:I've been playing with this paddle on and off for the past month. I've used it in a few doubles sessions, and one singles session against a male player. What I've learned is that this paddle is really meant for an offensive player. Not just offensive, but you need to be near pro level to really drive this paddle. The power is noticeable, and more so than my Holbrook Power Pro. But, it's not dramatic. When I first got this paddle, I was expecting an absolute cannon, but it's much more subdued than that. Maybe the Gen 3 paddle, with it's thinner and tighter core would be that cannon. The Perseus is redesigned such that they traded power for durability. And, that's ok with me. The bigger issue is that this added power makes it difficult for a player like me to control when dinking in the kitchen. So, like I said, I'm a defensive player. And, my style of play is better suited to control paddles as opposed to power paddles. It's not to say that you can't have great control with this paddle. There is a lot of friction on the surface. But, for me, when dinking in the kitchen, or trying to pop up smashes, I often find myself not decompensating enough for the added power. And, that leads me to hit balls out of bounds or not where I want them to be. I guess I need to get used to the power. But, in reality, it's just meant for a pro. And, really, when you watch pros in the PPA, where this paddle is approved, that's pretty much all they do: smash balls and play aggressive offense. That's where this paddle shines, and where I'm struggling with this paddle. Which brings me to my final point. As everyone has mentioned, this paddle is only approved for the PPA tournaments (where all the pros and high level players play), and not the USAPA, where I and most amateurs play. And, it's because of this, I can't really recommend this paddle if your DUPR rating isn't at least 5.0+. I would say even that your singles rating needs to be at the very least 4.5+ for this paddle to make any sense. Otherwise, it will be relegated to the one off use at rec play or local tourneys, or even worse, it will make your game so inconsistent, you'll be struggling with your rhythm. However, I still plan on keeping this paddle, because as I grow as a player, I want to become an all-a-rounder, as opposed to a defense specialist. And, I think this paddle will help me get there.
