I got this mainly for overnight kayaking trips. I've used similar bladders in the past and work great for kayaking because they form well to be stuffed well into the ends of the boat. Or these can be easily tied onto the deck with the handy tie-down pads.The material feels like high quality and the cap screws on tight. I can find no leakage with or without the spout attached.This one is unique though because of the spout. Other bladders I've used are really awkward to transfer water and nearly impossible to use right out of the bladder. This spout design though is wonderful and should really help that problem. I do wish though there was a way to tether the spout to keep it with the bladder as I see that can be pretty easy to lose.I do see other reviewers are less than satisfied with this bladder and even had a catastrophic failure. One reviewer didn't like the short spout because they couldn't use it from their backpack. These are storage bags, not usually intended to be used while hiking.As for the durability, I see someone had a catastrophic failure in their bag. That can indeed be horrible and is something I always a fear when putting any bladder in a backpack. So, I filled this 6L bladder to the top, dropped it onto the ground and then stood on it. It did indeed hold up to my 180 lbs!

HydraPak makes excellent water bladders; I use a HydroPak Force in one of my hiking packs and it’s been great. I also have a few of their smaller stand-alone water bladders, never had any issues with any of them and this larger 6 liter bladder is more of the same. The manufacturing and build quality is excellent, I really like the included straw which makes refilling smaller containers easier and less wasteful and all of the loops for hanging are very nicely welded on and strong. The included carrying sack is a bit tight but that’s really my only complaint about it and everything still fits so it’s pretty minor and an overall excellent water reservoir.

Nice to carry extra water. The siphon tube is WAY too short. Have to remove pack to drink. And, since the tube is on top you have to remove all air before you can get water flow. It’s a bladder only. Be aware.

This product completely failed and bursted open before I even got to use it. I placed it in my ruck bag, and then noticed later it had completely blown out on the top, letting water soak my entire bag and the contents inside. I do not recommend this product at all.
