These are nice shorts but are really cut to a very slim body type, if your son has no booty these are likely to work better for you. My son is not over weight but cannot wear these well. He needs a type with an elastic waist band I guess. These only have a small amount of adjustment to them with the tab and strings you tie together.They are unlined.

You get what you pay for the material was ok but kept opening up for my son but he did get to wear them after all.

So far these are great! I have a hard time finding swim trunks for my very tall son 11 year old son. These board shorts are the perfect length for him.
