Great deal, easy software setup. Figuring out how to connect smart thermostat to my old furnace was a challenge but after a little on-line research and clarified a couple of points with repair tech had on site for other issues, got it figured out. Installed by myself (70-yr old woman) - I've installed lights and other electrical over the years, not afraid of a little DIY.

I replaced a touch screen model with this push button model and it works great. I installed the cell phone app so I can set the temperature from almost anywhere.This unit is easy to install and super easy to use because it uses real buttons. The biggest challenge was getting the WiFi working. The install hung up during the WiFi install but I repeated the process and got it working. I would give the install 5 stars if it was not for the WiFi configuration issues. Note that the cell app can be very slow or have connection problems at times but eventually it will work.Pros:Easy installEasy to useBacklit screenInexpensiveWiFi supportCons:WiFi installation is trickyWiFi server network is not always responsive

I basically wanted wifi for the cheap basic stupid thermostat I had, for not a lot of money. Enter this review...I got it mounted and setup in about 30mins while making sure I was following the directions. It was pretty much plug n play for my HVAC system. It was pretty easy to get the wi-fi setup and working through the manufacturers app. I had no problem getting it setup in Home Assistant through the Honeywell Total Connect integration. Now, I can set my thermostat anywhere, and use just about any entity for automations in Home Assistant. I have total control!The unit is refurbished, but came in excellent condition with no noticable wear/imperfections, appeared to have came with all needed parts, manuals, and works as advertised. You DO NEED a C WIRE to power the unit! I got it for a little over $40 which is a ste... I mean good deal! :-D

1. You will need the C wire to connect it for it to work. How do you know if you have c wire. There are 2 ways check your thermostat to see if you have more than 2 wire coming out. If you have more than 2 wires then you likely have a newer boiler and or one of the wires is a c wire. Also you will see a c terminal with a wire in it. Sometimes the wire is there and just not used so make sure there are no extra wires on the wire you see coming out the wall. Next go to your boiler see if you see a c wire that is not used. If no c wire then you have 2 options the ugly c wire adapter or to run a new wire. If you don't want the wifi or fancy features just get a thermostat that does not require c wire. In my case i wanted all that jazz so I reran a new wire and upgrated from 2 wire to 5 wire although since i have no ac or fan I really only used 3 of the wires white for heat, red for 24v, and blue for C (common). Your electrician can use any color they want for anything but it make sense to do it properly as to not confused people so if your colors are different just make sure they match what they are supposed to do. Originally they had the red and white reversed so i corrected it so white can go with W and Red can go with Rh. There was never a blue common so I added that so now there are just 3 wires going out of the wall. This also means only 3 wires are connected at the boiler as the others were not used. Oh and back to the product sorry for the technical details. The wifi like most people say is difficult to connect did not work at all. so basically I reran the wire for nothing. The only thing is the thermostats with the c wire will have more advance features and designs. So I will purchase a different wifi capable thermostat but save $40.00 buy not buying this one. Its a waste of money. Hope this helps someone if so hit the like and let me know after all i did just save you $40.00 bucks. would not recommend buying this.
