Staple puller is too thick to get under staples, "mallet" is a toy, needlenose pliers are slightly better quality than a Christmas cracker prize.

Unfortunately, the staple remover is way too thick to get under staples when stripping furniture. Using the mallet doesn’t help - if you keep at it, you’ll damage your piece. The pliers are fine but just a regular set of pliers, nothing special for upholstery purposes. They mallet is fine

The tools are a good starter set for someone just getting started with upholstery. The staple lifter was too thick to get between the staple and the wood but I think that may be because the chairs I'm trying to reupholster are made with very hard wood and the staples don't lift easily. The rest of the tools are working well. I would recommend getting a brand name staple lifter (like Osborne) since that is the tool that you will use the most and if it it is too hard to get it under the staples you will be adding hours to your project. Still, a good price and value.

Used this set to install nail head trim into a wooden ottoman base. Very helpful for this purpose. Made it easy to hold the tack straight and didn't damage the brass tack head. I only used it for this one little project so I really can't speak to durability or longevity though. But I may pass on this set to another amateur upholstery/furniture project person. It's a very good and helpful product and a good value compared to buying items imdividually.
