I have had a Dremel model 380 basic kit since about 1978 or so. I can't count how many abrasive cut-off disks I have gone through, and for several years also made use of diamond-tipped saw disks. I have put up with having to 'reload' the mandrel either to replace a broken abrasive disk or to switch from cut-off disk to diamond wheel. Then i stubmled on these. With these I have found it much more convenient to loosen the collet and switch loaded mandrels rather then pull the mandrel's screw etc. I also appreciate the longer shaft length.The only thing which could be easier would be to have a second Dremel. Hmmm - I wonder if my brother still uses Dad's? (It is al leaset from the 50's, metal kit case, single full-tilt boogie speed.)

UPDATE: I had to shuve papertowel down the shaft to make the grippy thing grip more ...got these while back now ... I happy to go use my new bits and .... They are like .5 to thin so they just fall out ... the long ones are way to thin maybe 1mm too thin ... so NOT FOR DREMEL 8220

The first one I used bent to a 90 degree angle and the cutting wheel flew off the shaft...I felt fortunate that it did not hit me. I did use another one and it worked okay.
