I'm just learning to cut single point threads on a metal lathe. These were helpful to assess the Pitch diameter and to help understand where my cut threads were binding on the nut. In hindsight, probably not necessary, but they were helpful in the learning curve. The .029" wires measured between .02880 and .02905 on my Mitutoyo micrometer. I bought this set mainly for the box that looked easier to find on the shelf. It is fine, but the lid is very tight, and I need to use a thin blade knife to shoe-horn the lids off and on. It looks like the tabs on the lids would break if you try to twist the lid off by hand. The included black rubber wire holders were a good addition. They hold 2 wires on the micrometer and were helpful to measure the threads while on the lathe. Overall pretty happy with this purchase.

MUST screw or nail this to something that cannot slip around whether a board or table .. love the magnet which holds the metal cap and the smooth fit as it bottoms out securely on the bottles rim. You feel it seal and know that beer looking back at you is 7 days from consumption. "POP" Oh yaaa....Quality materials and simple leverage design YET speedy capping pays for itself.

As a professional brewer, take my word, THIS IS JUNK. I purchased so my guys in the cellar could do some single bottles occasionally for samples. We did maybe 3 cases and realized that it does not evenly seat the cap, thus, resulting any leaky caps and flat beer. Do yourself a favor and spend the money from a reputable dealer for something like this. You worked too hard on that beer to let it go to waist. Cheers

The item came with a missing screw (no pb, I just put on one I had) but most important it does NOT work with 29mm bottle caps. very disappointed.

I've bottled over 300 bottles of beer with this with no problems... it is starting to feel a bit loose, but still works fine. Much better than the "Wing" Style"You need to put a bit of muscle behind it, but nothing a 100 lb 14 year old cant do.You really need to clamp or screw it down to get the best use out of it.The magnet has not fallen out of mine as others have stated.I have found some beer bottles work better than others (I prefer New Belgium) and an easy test is if the lid twists after seating.... maybe don't use those bottles again. So far I have none that have burst or failed to seal after carbonation.I shouldn't have to say this but it WILL NOT work well on twist top bottles.

Great wires for thread measurement. While I will always use threads mics over wires, sometimes I don't have mics available, or large enough. These are inexpensive and arguably more accurate than thread mics, they just take longer to set up, calculate mow (measurement over wire) and are hard to hold on to. Bought a set for home and work.

Lovin' this wire set. Spot on dimension, wire holders work well. Case is a little hard to open when new, but seems better with each use. Great set for the home workshop.
