I like the tool but I would like it better if I could be more aggressive with roughing cuts

Not sure where this gouge is made but its a beast of a tool. So glad I upgraded from a 3/4" as the time savings. Plus the bigger cutting edge = fewer time spent sharpening. Overall a 5 rated tool!

I've bought many lathe tools before and they are usually a "regular size". Bought this thinking it's the usual size I buy... I was wrong. What an incredible buy. This will make turning alot safer when compared to my other turning tools. Incredible!My other tools cost alot more but usually come in a set of 3. So I was initially thrown off by the price but now I can see why it's priced on the higher end.Looking forward to using my lathe alot more this year.

Quality of steel is good. Sharpens easily and holds an edge nicely.Makes roughing out blanks a breeze
