Nice addition. I needed some time to understand it, but it is a good addition for anyone into music

I was skeptical, and when I opened it even more, I said, " This is really going to help me.” It's not a fancy device, no digital. My thoughts were almost to the point of disappointment, but with just a few minutes of reading and sitting next to my piano, my piano learning skyrocketed like nothing. It's a truly magical piece to keep in front of you. This is a game changer, and as an adult learning experience, it is fantastic and worth every penny.Thank you.

I like the sliding tool to show you the chords. It's an absolute fingerprint magnet but other than that it's a really handy tool that once you realise how it works you can get a lot of use out of it. As others have pointed out, it's a one at a time tool so something you'd need to use ahead of time, or for working things out, not to glance at while playing but for me that's fine.Overall package is presented very well and one of the things I particularly like is the additional sheet that has the "map" from notes on the stave to keys on the keyboard. That will be more essential than a beginner might initially realise. When I started I had little stickers on my keys. That chart would probably have been better. The book is where it get's a bit more awkward to leave a subjective review. First of all, there's a wealth of information in here and I love that it's presented in book form. Whenever anyone has tried to explain this stuff to me in the past either online or face-to-face, I just zone out and glaze over, I just can't take in all the terminology thrown at me all at once, so it's really good to have it in book form where I can read over it time and again until it sinks in. And you will need to because they still throw a massive amount of new terminology at you all at once. But...I said in the title it's confusing, and it really is. It's very obvious that the people who wrote this book really know their stuff but don't necessarily know how to present it to someone that doesn't. Here's one example. It will be out of context but that doesn't matter. "Use the keyboard to count the keys between C and E. You should count four keys." Well, nope, I'm sorry, but try as I might, between C and E on a piano keyboard there are C#, D and D#. No matter how hard I try, I can't make that anything other than 3 keys. If you want to be all inclusive, it would be 5 keys (C, C#, D, D#, E). Only way we can get 4 keys is to be inclusive of either the start or end. But the text doesn't say that. See what I mean about confusing?! I'm a beginner so I'm sure they're right and I'm wrong, or maybe their keyboard has another key hiding in there somewhere? Who knows. You have to just not think too hard and move on. (By the way E is separated from C by 4 intervals - maybe they mean that, but they don't SAY that so ???)There are other confusing things about the book. I spent a huge amount of time at the start trying to work out just how (or why?) the 3rd and the 5th are what they are. I kind of knew about Tone, Tone, Semi-tone, etc. so I think I managed to get there, but they don't mention that (IMO) very key piece of information until page 28. That made for a very confusing first 28 pages!!Despite everything, if you can just take it at face value and move on - I can't I need to know WHY all the time - then the book has a wealth of information. You just need to tease it out.Overall I like it and I may get the guitar ones too. Value for money? I'd prefer it if it was cheaper and maybe this could be achieved by making the slider a heavy, laminated card instead of plastic. And we'd have less landfill when we're done with it. But overall, given the plastic tool included, yeah, I guess it's worth it.

This is a great ok, but it's very basic. the book is a far better resource.Ok, if you need to know the position of a chord, you could use this plastic, or just have a simple printed chord chart. one of them you can see directly with your eyes and the other one you have to stop playing and then fiddle with. You really don't get much info with the tool. Ok its a great learning object, but its just not practical to play with.the book on the other hand is wonderful.

A great little book for helping to learn piano chords however one thinks that the chord compass book might have worked equally as well as a tablet or phone app (which are generally costly to create and maintain).Even if you can play basic piano - the chord progressions demonstrated and identified provides an education that supports the practice and make visualisation much easier than trying to recall the chords in one's head or writing directly on the piano/keyboard keys :)
