These looked so nice when I first put them on my mare, and i loved that they had the stiff sewn-in supports for the back of the legs, but still they turned and twisted on her and sagged and I had to keep going out to the paddock to readjust them and tighten them more over and over. My mare is 14.2 and I bought the cob size and they appear to be the right size. By the afternoon I noticed that the inside legs were getting little tears -either by her rolling or perhaps her hoof rubbing against it as she lifted her feet to stomp, or catching on the nails where the come out of her hoof ( though they are properly crimped over). The fabric was not durable at all. My mare of course is still being bitten above and just below the fly boots so stomping still occurs, but definitely keep flies off her legs where she is covered with the boots so I was glad for that. We don't have a bad fly problem here, but just enough to be annoying and I was sorry these did not hold up. I can still use them but I hated having to keep checking on her only to discover that they boots kept needing readjusting. My last fly boots I had for years and years and were a really tough plastic mesh. If I could remember who made those, I would have bought those ones again.

I used to protect summer sores from flies. They are well made soft and stretchy. In spite of efforts to bush hog our grad is plentiful and tall. These fly boots did not hold up well in the tall grass. Also the support or spine of the boot broke. It never came through the casing but I was fearful that it might. That boot was less than a month old when it broke.
