this is the best best coffee maker i ever used. there is no pot to break or burn. the coffee is on the inside of the maker and it has a setting to keep it hot for upto 4 hours. it uses a bar to press like a soda pop machine to dispense the coffee so its always hot and fresh. i had one before this and used it until it died nad bought this one and its great i love it and i wont go back to a coffeemaker with a pot ever again. i highly recommend this machine

(*Update, 1/1/25:I've had this for half a year now, and I still love it. It works flawlessly, and continues to deliver great coffee. However, that little bit of extra resistance at the pushbar/button continued to bug me, so I MacGyvered it (look it up, ye kiddies) and just trimmed the spring at the plug valve under the pot. Check my last pic- it was easy. Just a screwdriver and a pair of wire cutters, with a good brushing of that little filter (it gets grimy, and this is also a good time to clean the machine- use 1/3 distilled vinegar to water, and run a couple of cycles.) Anyway, presto! She is not so resistant now, is she? A caution, though- if you cut that spring too much, say more than 1/3, it won't have enough force to keep that rubber seal pushed shut, and your unit could drip. Finding another spring would mean a trip to Home Depot. Just go easy. It was a good mod, though, and the pushbar is more accommodating. Try it if you're like me- annoyed by the little things, with too much time on your hands. Ta, and happy New Year!)I first encountered the Hamilton Beach on a vacation, and was captivated by a machine that automatically dispensed coffee; why hadn't anyone thought of this before? I'm also a sucker for gadgets and buttons, so I couldn't wait for an excuse to get one.The excuse presented itself soon after, when I broke our second Ninja pot. At $25 a pop, I was already in for $50, and number three was gonna make it $75. I didn't like the math, and Ninja didn't make a steel carafe. If they had, I would have stayed with it- it's a nimble little machine that makes tasty coffee. But like printer cartridges, they soak you. And my trusty old Cuisinart finally gave up the ghost after one too many spills where I forgot to put the lid on. I kept the steel carafe, though, and I poured my coffee from the Ninja into the carafe. It stays hot and fresh longer, something no glass pot can do.Segue to the HB. It's pretty simple, with only a reservoir (the base unit) a "pot" (the plastic unit on top that the coffee brews into) and the filter. You fill up the reservoir (I use the pot to do this, which is easy to hold and has a pour spout that actually pours without dripping all over), grind your beans (medium to fine), stick it back together and press the button. The BOLD and 1-4 settings work well, and you can adjust the pot to stay hot for 0-4 hours (which is does because of the conductive heating plates which meet at the pot and the base). The zero hour setting is for cold coffee.But as long as a coffee machine works and is easy enough to clean, it's all about the taste. Here the HB also performs well; we've had it for a couple of weeks and the coffee is as rich and flavorful as anything that comes out of a sub-$300 machine or a French press (which I still like best). A traditional pot is easier to clean, because it's round, but a good brush takes care of the odd shape of the pot. The HB cost $59, and I opted for the 4-year Asurion warranty for an extra $11- I'm fed up with things that go kaput, and while I don't see that happening with this unit, it's worth the piece of mind. The fact that it won't break was one of the two big sells for the HB. The other was the auto-pour feature, which, while pretty neat, comes with an asterisk.**It's got a bit of resistance. When I push my cup against it, the unit slides back, even though it has a couple of rubber pads, and it's on a granite counter. Easily solved by putting it against the wall, which doesn't impede the lid or machine in any way. But it does take a little more push than, say, a lever at a soda machine. No big deal, but some people may take umbrage at the audacity for it to push back a little. Hey, I'm the boss here, and you're gonna give me a cup whether you're in the mood or not, little button.Take away: The HB is solid unit that won't break, and it makes very good coffee that stays hot. It obviates spills and burns (smart for seniors who shake or drop things), and for less than the price of three replacement Ninja carafes, it's a bargain, and it's fun to get your morning going at the push of a button.Cheers,-Z

Lo que mas me encanta de la cafetera es su diseño, es muy elegante y práctico. Nos olvidamos de la tipica jarra de vidrio que da miedo tomar con las manos y que se rompa tan solo al verla.Este producto no tiene ese inconveniente, adicional de todo esto es programable y mantiene el café caliente por horas sin que afecte este a su sabor, así es no altera su sabor.Todo amante del café sabe que si se hace un café en una cafetera de goteo normal la típica de vidrio con el plato que se calienta abajo de la jarra, el café tarde o temprano sabe a quemado, esto no sucede con esta cafetera, gracias a que internamente se calienta el café en una placa de metal.Me encanta poder dejarla programada con un horario para que comience sola a fabricar mi café por la mañana, el despertar y oler a mi casa a café recién hecho no tiene precio.La sigo usando diariamente y todo va excelente la recomiendo ampliamente.

El artículo cumple con la descripción del vendedor, el dispensador es mucho más práctico que la tradicional jarra. La cafetera es fácil de usar, muy intuitivo el panel y fácil de lavar

The drip tray kept separating from the coffee maker and was a nuisance until I found a way to wedge it in place. A poor design feature. Otherwise it is working well and makes a decent cup of coffee. Not having any glass carafe is a big plus.

This is a great coffee maker but not perfect. It truly keeps the coffee hot whereas all double walled carafes are tepid in 40 mins.The machine is easy to use but it seems a lot of people over look the obvious as they separate the parts and put the water in the wrong place even though there is 12 cup fill guide on the left hand side of the lowest section.My machine had both of the common problems, the leaking at the pour lever and the heater boiling the water.There is videos on Youtube for both problems. It took 5 mins to adjust the pour lever problem and 2 mins to put two pieces of aluminum foil over the heater to prevent it from boiling the coffee.The one HUGE improvement for this would be an LED light near the pour lever so when filling your mug you can see how full it is getting without having all the lights on in the kitchen LOL

Ya llevo más de medio año usándola y me gusta su gran funcionalidad, programar el café es bastante sencillo ya decir verdad sale muy rico, yo siempre lo preparo en el modo cargado. El café se prepara rápido, incluso en el referido modo cargado. Lo que no me gusta y concuerdo con otros comentarios, es que luego, de alguna forma se riega por café por debajo de la cafetera que sale en color negro. No es algo especialmente problemático pero sí hay que limpiar de vez en cuando eso.En cuanto a las medidas, las 12 tazas que prepara la cafetera, son lo mismo que 6 tazas tamaño estándar o grandes. Así que la relación es que por cada dos tazas de la cafetera, sale una de las grandes, más comúnmente usadas.Respecto a los modos de café en sí funcionan con el botón Brew Strenght del siguiente modo:(a) No apretar nada: Es para hacer cualquier número de tazas con carga estándar.(b) 1 - 4 tazas: Se usa cuando se hacen 1 a 4 tazas pequeñas, ó 1 a 2 tazas grandes con café cargado.(c) Modo cargado: Para cuando se haga cualquier número de tazas, en modo cargado. Por lo que es lo mismo hacer 1 a 4 tazas pequeñas ( o 1 a 2 grandes) con el botón anterior o con éste. Pero si se quieren hacer más tazas cargadas, el botón de 1-4 tazas no funcionará, por lo que se debe usar éste.(d) Modo frío: Tal cual no existe ese modo marcado por botón alguno, así que hacerlo es cosa más bien de uno al echar hielo directamente en el depósito. Yo nunca lo he hecho.

Update en junio 2021, en plena pandemia.Pues con el paso del tiempo (junio 2021, en plena pandemia) el deposito del cafe se tapo y dejo de salir al apretar la palanca. La revisé y el filtro metálico por donde sale el cafe esta completamente tapado. Así que la abrí y la limpié. Como todo aparato diseñado para dejar de funcionar, la rondana de seguridad para que el cafe no se escurra venía sellada con calor. Asi que una vez que la limpié se despego de la base del tanque de agua y dejo de servir. Así que ahora tengo una cafetera inutil que requiere una rondana que no puede pasar de costar 50 pesos pero que es imposible conseguir. Todos estos electrodomesticos desechables... Que verguenza**********************************************Compramos esta cafetera para reducir el eterno problema de que una vez rota la taza, se termina tirando la cafetera porque sale mas caro comprar el reemplazo de la taza que una cafetera nueva.Bueno, la ventaja de esta Hamilton Beach es que el cuerpo mismo de la maquina es donde se almacena el cafe caliente por las siguientes 4-6 hr. Y tiene buen calor, asi que no me quejo. Funcional y facil de instalar. Muy buen producto, recomiendo ampliamente
