The 8" diameter makes a big difference win my lighting for my garage. Easy to install if you also buy the 8" hole saw.

2 of the 3 I purchased died within an hour of turning on.Also, the switch that makes the colour selectable is so poorly designed. It is on the top and when one twists the fixture into the box, any little thing will cause that switch to move and change the colour.Junk.

We had about a dozen 90's era builder-grade dome lights in our hallways and closets. These lights were a cheap and relevately easy way to quick modernize the look of our home.The kit comes with everything you need to replace the lights. In our experience, the first one can take a while to figure out which parts you will and won't need depending on your existing light. Then after that initial learning curve, they're a quicker install.I love how much light these give off! Each area where we install them instantly looks bigger and brighter with these lights. I'm a fan on the all-in-one housing so we no longer have little dead bugs in all of our lights. I also really like that this means we can install them in our bathrooms without worrying about water exposure. This is a time/money investment because hopefully after installing these, we never have to replace another bulb in these rooms before we move out in a decade or so. My favorite feature is that each bulb can set the color warmness at install. So closets and hallways can be bright and white, but toilet areas can be a little warmer for that first light of the morning.I do recommend this as a way to update your house. We originally just bought a few lights for areas where we needed to replace the bulb or light anyways, but the before/after made such a difference that we decided to replace almost all of our lights with these. It's one of those weekend projects that really helps your home.
