I purchased this cable with HDMI capture card to see if I could use it to view Blu-Ray (or DVD) movies on my Quest 3 headset. Of course, I can just as easily (more easily, actually) watch the movies on a regular HDTV, but I wanted to see if this was possible, and it does let me view the movies on a virtual screen that is much larger than the 32-inch set in that sits next to my Blu-Ray player.I ran into a few minor glitches in getting this to work, but overall I would say the process was quite painless. First, I installed the Meta Quest HDMI Link app on the headset. Then, I plugged the HDMI end of this cable into the HDMI output jack on the Blu-Ray player, and the USB-C end into the Quest 3 headset's USB-C port. A screen with some settings appeared on the Quest 3's screen after I opened the HDMI link app. It took a few tries before I could check the three boxes that appeared, to enable the HDMI options. The main one to activate was the one for the USB-C connection from this device. Then I inserted a Blu-Ray movie disc into the player and pushed Play. I was then able to hear the sound from the movie that was playing, but the large virtual screen in the Quest 3 headset was black, with no video image. It seemed to me that the likely reason for the blank screen was that the movie had HDCP copy protection, so I set up an HDMI splitter that I had used before (a Mini-Splitter from J-Tech Digital). I plugged the HDMI cable from the Blu-Ray player into the HDMI input jack on the splitter, and plugged the video capture device's HDMI end into Output 1 of the splitter, and the USB-C end into the Quest 3 headset. Then, Presto! The movie's sound and video were both playing just fine in the Quest 3 headset. I could watch the movie on a very large virtual screen.

I bought this to use on my Quest 3 with my work laptop (security protocols won’t allow me to use AirPlay on work computer). Great for traveling or just sitting on the couch when I don’t want to work from my desk!

A one cable solution for capturing 1080p 60fps gaming with HDMI output.Great for capturing console gameplay in 1080p 60fps. Setup is pretty simple due to the fact that this is a cable and capture card in one. I have found it to be compatible with a variety of software such as OBS, Steamlabs, MS Teams (Camera Input for presentations) and it even works with Genki Arcade as well. The cable itself is well made and the housing for the capture chipset and HDMI male Input is solidly built. Too bad it has the rubberized type of outer protection for the cable. As this type of outer sheath is known to wear out over time. But with careful use and possibly some after purchase application of alternate cladding, it could extend the lifetime of the cable. Heat Shrink wrap recommended around the cable ends to ensure they don't fray too soon. The cable features a 100w capable power input on the HDMI housing. This power input is routed to the USB end and will deliver to power what is connected to the capture side. This is extremely useful and why the brand Hagibis is gaining traction all over the market. More on this and the compatibility with the previously mentioned Genki Arcade below:There are several use cases for this cable and some are niche, but if you're looking for them, you'll be happy that you've found this cable. The first use case is the newly introduced HDMI input that Meta headsets now have. This cable allows you to capture and display an HDMI output signal from a Console, Graphics card, Laptop and anything else that has an HDMI output. This takes your Quest 2 or 3 and allows you to use them as a large virtual screen, much like AR glasses like Xreal air, Viture and others that have been gaining popularity recently. The 100w Power delivery allows you to also charge your headset as you are using it and since the power input port is located on the capture card housing in the HDMI input, this allows the setup to remain rather clean with only the single cable to the headset being needed.Another good use case is if you travel a lot and want to cut down on carrying a screen, but you have a tablet such as an iPad. You can use this cable along with the Genki App or Genki Arcade browser page and capture the video for display on an iPad with minimal latency. You can even charge the tablet as it displays your video. With this, you can also display video from a laptop with a broken screen or headless machine in your setup, allowing you to manage or recover files from a once thought lost device. You may also need to display your screen from one PC to present it on another. Useful for work presentations in MS Teams. Simply plug the HDMI into the PC with the content you wish to display and then connect the USB to the presentation PC and within MS Teams, select the USB device to display as your camera. Use the meeting settings to focus on your camera and now you have a presentation being controlled from another PC, allowing you more flexibility.Overall, great cable with niche uses. But as I said previously, if you are looking for a cable that provides these use cases, this is the right one. Definitely satisfied and will likely purchase more products from this seller.
