I bought this one to try out since I love my ladybug so much. A couple of things I don't like compared to the ladybug. 1) It's a harder silicone material 2) Slightly smaller around, I don't feel like it sits as well in my bra 3) having to lay it down on the rounded side always freaks me out (I wish it could stand up). Again, I love the Haakaa's but I prefer the lady bug over the shell.

I was so excited to try this shell when I saw it. I love the normal Haaka. I'm a large chested lady and unfortunately the suction just doesn't last even when in my bra. I believe it's due to the size of my breast, but again I love the idea! It does work as just a regular collector, so that's how I use it now. I also like that it's able to hold 4 oz, as I'm an oversupplier.

I didn't realize how much milk I was wasting into my bra before this. While breastfeeding, I use the original haakaa on the opposite side. Of I know I won't be able to breastfeed for a while, I'll put these on (I got 2, purchased separately) & collect what I can. I add a little suction, and I got double what I usually pump out, in just about 2 hours of wearing these! Has that just leaked into my nursing pads all this time?! There's definitely suction, so not all of that would've leached, but I can't imagine how much I've lost & didn't know it.They do augment and discolor the nipple (made me worried when i took them off), and my baby had nipple confusion and rejected it after using these for a couple hours. Everything went back to normal overnight. I have to make sure I either use these with the tiniest bit of suction, or not use them at all if I'm going to breastfeed later. I have other "shells" that don't have suction that I might use instead, but you're still going to get the misshapen nipple after use of products like this.Anyways, I still use them daily, I just plan ahead of breastfeeding based on how my body reacts. Definitely recommend!

I love the haakaa since it can suction to my breast and comfortably collect milk hands free while I nurse baby on the other breast. But. My baby does sometimes kick the pump off or I occasionally have the suction so low that I knock it off and spill my milk. So I wanted a milk collection option that had some gently suction to help it collect milk, and also stay on.The lady bug is their milk collecting option but that has zero suction and wasn’t going to stay on my chest by itself. This shell shaped on is great and I can put it in my bra so it’s totally out of the way. I bought both sizes. The smaller 2 oz one is good for smaller breast. The larger 4 oz option fits DD+ boobs best. Watch some videos on how to use it. I really like it. I do see some design flaws but over all it’s working amazingly and I’m collecting 2 oz of milk passively!10/10 product but it’s important to understand what it does. Love the Haakkaa products!

Overall, it works about as well as the normal Hakaa pump, and is certainly a worthy investment for convenience. Detailed thoughts and tips to follow.Photos 1 & 2: first try. 1-2 ounces with "attach & go" method.Photos 3 & 4: second try. 2-3 ounces with repeated adjustment of pressure.Photo 5: easy to empty & cleans well, but does hold moisture. Dry it out manually.Because the suction isn't rhythmic, this won't start a let down on it's own. Once a let down starts, however, it will empty whatever is easily available within your breast. I have the 4 ounce model, and it emptied my breast the second time.In other words: it will empty a breast while you are actively nursing the baby, but do not substitute this for an actual pump. This would be ideal for single breast feeders (like me) whose baby can get a full tummy on 1 breast as it can attached the breast not being used for this feeding.Tips:1. Ensure the plug is all the way in, or you won't have suction. This takes a bit of focused effort as the plug has a lip on it.2. To attach: make certain you press firmly into your breast to create suction. My 8 year old thought my breast "farting" was hilarious (I didn't know she was there until she started cackling). That means it's on correctly. Release pressure in subtle increments to get it comfortable. Clasp your bra over the shell. At the highest suction, it will stay on, but even a slight release of pressure will keep that from happening, so use your bra to keep it in place.3. Do not leave it on for longer than your baby nurses, or too vacuumed to your nipple, or you will experience pain the next time you nurse. I'd suggest not leaving it on for more than 15 minutes. Release suction if it's on for longer than that. Empty it out when baby is done nursing.4. To remove: tilt forward, keeping your hand on the shell, and subtly release the pressure while tilting forward slightly. This will prevent spills.5. This is quite obvious under a bra, so I'd suggest doing this at home, or purchasing 2 for a "boob job" look while out & about.6. Keep a bottle or bags for milk collected. That's about it.
