Surprised to see this new item come to amazon. Ive been looking into a full sized mat or just a section of turf for my home. Ive found that the full size mats are much too big for my space and this fits perfectly. However, the actual turf is not high quality and I find myself constantly vacuuming the "grass" that comes off of the mat. It was on sale at the time of purchase for $160 and I think the value is there for that price. I use it heavily and would only anticipate it lasting 2-3 years before needing to be replaced.

Wow, this batting mat has taken our backyard baseball practice to a whole new level! The 6 ft x 5.5 ft size gives my kids plenty of space to work on their swings and improve their batting skills. The switch-hitting design adds an exciting twist, allowing them to practice from both sides of the plate. And the best part? The reversible home plate makes it feel like they're stepping up to bat in a real game. The turf is durable and provides a great surface for hitting. It's like having our own mini baseball field right at home!

Matting has a very colororful surface and strong bottom. It comes rolled up, but after a few days it lays flat on the edges. I found putting it in the sun speeds up the flattening. I use this mattingn in the garage for my son's baseball. He says he loves to hit from it into the net. Highly recommend the his matting. Indoor or outdoor use.

This is a solid batting mat, but I have wavered between giving it four vs. five stars.Pros: There is no doubt that this would be a great mat for a single player at home. It is sturdy, thick, and well-made. It doesn't slip. So far, it's handling metal cleats here, but it hasn't been used enough to truly test that capability. It's light enough that I was able to load and unload it myself even though I'm not very strong or tall. If you don't have a lot of space, the smaller width compared to other mats could be helpful. I like that it's closer to the color of dirt, since that's everyone sees during an at-bat. Batters can pivot well on it.Con (only one, but important): Although it's reversible, it's less trouble to use a mat that accommodates both left & right handed hitters from the outset--and there are double-sided mats that only cost a little more. I suspect that a team would prefer a double-sided mat.If you are looking for a mat for at-home use, this one is worth considering.
