These Goldwood GT-520 (100 watt max/50 watt RMS) silk dome tweeters sound amazing, especially at such a low price point. No, they are not Morel, Focal or Peerless tweeters, but they sound nearly as good at a fraction of the price of those other "high-fidelity" tweeter brands. The highs in these Goldwood tweeters are clean and crisp with no breakup, and without being too harsh or fatiguing to the ears. I have been building and repairing speakers for decades now (using a lot of Goldwood components), and these Goldwood tweeters are some of the best sounding "budget" tweeters that I have come across in a while. The only weak point of these tweeters is the positive and negative connection points. They are very tiny metal spade connectors (same size on both sides) mounted on thin plastic arms, so just be careful making those connections. I tested these tweeters when I unboxed them, and they are right at 8 ohms, +/- .1 ohms. These tweeters come marked on the positive connector with a tiny dot of red paint, but I did a polarity check (with a battery) just to be sure the connections were actually marked correctly, and the drivers actually moved. Everything was good to go to install the tweeters. The reason I purchased these Goldwood GT-520 tweeters was to replace/upgrade the tweeters in the original Pioneer Andrew Jones Design speakers, in my home theater system, after 12 years of use. My Pioneer AV receiver recently died after 12 years of everyday use also, and when it went it took out the tweeter in the left front floor speaker with it (the crossover surprisingly survived though). What a "shrill" of a sound that was....lol. I guess I can't complain after 12 years of faithful use though. I replaced the Pioneer AV receiver with a new Denon AV receiver, and replaced the tweeters in the left and right front floor speakers with these Goldwood GT-520 tweeters. What a huge difference the new amp and tweeters made in the high frequency sound quality of some already really good speakers. I have always liked the great sound, and the unique, futuristic "Robbie The Robot" look of the Pioneer speakers. Now I like them even more with these Goldwood tweeters installed. I like the new clean sound so much that I replaced the stock tweeters in all 5 Pioneer speakers with Goldwood GT-520 tweeters. What a huge difference that made. The clarity is like having a whole new surround sound system without spending a fortune, which makes the wife very happy.....lol.These Goldwood GT-520 tweeters are "virtually" a drop in fit for all of the original Pioneer Andrew Jones speakers, as the speakers all use the same 1" silk dome tweeter mounted on a 4.5 inch diameter shallow horn surround. This includes the SP-FS51-LR, SB-S21-LR, and the SP-C21 speakers. The SW-8 subwoofer does not have a tweeter, of course. The black metal grills remove easily with a curved metal pick, but they will not be able to be reused with the new Goldwood tweeters (without modification), as the Goldwood tweeters do not have the grill retaining groove in them that the stock tweeters do. It's ok though, as I like the deeper horn look of the Goldwood tweeters, so I Ieft them uncovered. The original female spade connectors on the tweeter wiring from the crossover have to be replaced with smaller connectors in order to fit the tiny male spade connectors on the Goldwood tweeters. The 4 original tweeter mounting holes "almost" line up with the new Goldwood tweeter holes, but they are off by a couple of millimeters each. No big deal though, as the holes are easy to modify or remake in the tweeter recess of the MDF constructed speaker cabinet. The outer diameter of the Golwood tweeter horn surround is the same exact 4.5 inches as the stock tweeter, so it slips in perfectly with no bare wood exposed at all (see photo). The Goldwood tweeters look great. The Goldwood tweeters are 8 ohm and the stock tweeters are 6 ohm, but that does not make much difference in the original 6 ohm rating of the Pioneer speakers, as the overall impedence is usually controlled by the woofer ratings, and most modern amplifiers can adjust from 4 to16 ohms automatically. The 8 ohm Goldwood tweeters will just require less amp power to play at the same volume as the 6 ohm stock tweeters, so they are a little louder. The Goldwood tweeters also have a much higher sensitivity level than the stock tweeters at 92db vs 87db, another reason they will play louder. The Goldwood tweeters also seem to handle the stock crossover frequency perfectly (2,500 hz), as I did not need to modify or replace the crossovers at all. Overall, I am very happy with this Goldwood tweeter upgrade, and hopefully these tweeters are as durable as the stock tweeters. Although, I have heard and read about a lot of people having issues with the stock tweeters blowing in a short time. Luckily, mine made it 12 years with no problems until the amp went belly-up, but, fortunately, I only lost 1 tweeter.I highly recommend these amazing Goldwood tweeters for anyone that wants to build new speakers or upgrade existing speakers. I just added the Pioneer speaker tweeter replacement as a reference for anyone needing to repair or upgrade these already great speakers, as there seems to be a lot of questions on the internet about replacement tweeters for these exact speakers. I hope the information is helpful for someone. Good luck!

I got this to replace a failed tweeter in a second-hand Infinity speaker I got for peanuts on ebay. The highs sound as good as on my other Inifinties.

Ordered these are replacements for some Pioneer Andrew Jones floor standing speakers. Sound slighty brighter than stock, just give them some time to break in. They even out to a nice balanced tone, and manage to keep a clean sound for quite a ways. Get things things going past 105db, and things start to get ugly real quick. All in all, you can't go wrong at $9 a tweeter, they sound good and were cheap.
