The leads are not acoustically isolated from the cone, the slightest vibration from inside the enclosure transmits to the lead wires and into the cone producing pronounced distortion. You can hear it without even installing it in a system. Just hold the speaker in your hand and listen to the cone while lightly stroking the contacts with your finger. The ridges of your fingerprint can be heard loudly from the speaker like stroking the needle of a record player. In the system I couldn't figure out why it was so odd sounding so I checked it with a tone generator. At 30 to 200 hz this midrange was buzzing from the bass waves inside the cabinet. Swapped it with a nearly identical Fisher 4" and the buzz was gone. Stroking the contacts was the giveaway as to why. There is always a slight transmission to the cone but the Fisher is 100X quieter, what I would consider normal. I bought 2 of these Goldwood speakers and they both have the same characteristic. They are not properly made and I cannot recommend this item for any purpose.

Fast delivery. Easy to install. Breathed life back into my Realistic Sound Towers when the polyester foam surround disintegrated.

These sound great.The original speakers in my towers were crackling and sounded horrible after more than 15 years of abuse.Now they are as good as new.
