I had a request to make a clock with a deer on it. I purchased the design he wanted and found these slate cheese boards. This was my first attempt at doing slate this large and doing round objects. I'm still very new to laser engraving, so I was a bit nervous. But the price on these was pretty reasonable and the size was great for a clock. Below is a few bullet points I found with these boards:Pros:- Thickness: These are plenty thick to engrave and drill without fear of breaking the slate.- Ease of Drilling: I was surprised at how easy it was to drill through this material. I tested on a slate coaster I had laying around but was very nervous about the size of the board and spacing between the feet. I supported it from under the drill location and the bit went right through with little effort.- Price: These are pretty decently priced for the size and quality.- Packaging: These were very well packaged. I was afraid I'd receive one broken, but they were packaged extremely well.Cons:- Size: These are not quite 12 inches, more like 11.75 inches. Not a huge deal, but I had to modify my clock arms a bit to make them look right.- Durability: I am not sure how well these will hold up to constant use. I had some pieces that did flake off pretty easily. As a display item, this works great!Overall, I am very pleased with these. I've done 2 clocks so far with exactly the same results. If you are looking for something to display or use here and there for food that you do not have to cut, these are great! I used a coating that is not good to use for food, but you could pick up some mineral oil for the coating if you wish to use for food. I would not recommend this so much for constant use or to cut on. I found little bits of slate flaking off when I first unpackaged. I used a towel and ran around the sides a few times to loosen up any other flaking parts before lasering. Not a big deal if you are displaying, a bigger deal if it ends up in food.

These slate pieces came well packed and zero defects. They engraved well and were plenty thick. I would highly recommend these. I will let the pics speak for themselves. Will order again!

No es piedra, es vidrio... son muy muy delgados (pongo la foto de una bic comparándolo) y se ven muy frágiles... en la imagen se ven el doble de gruesos 🤨
