Easy to use, the center drive feature is a game changer, snap out pliers are perfect for one hand use, feels great in hands, looks cool. Overall very satisfied!

This is the best designed gerber tool that I’ve owned so far. I typically use at least one of the tools on it on a daily basis. The knife is very sharp and can be accessed without opening the center drive, the spring loaded pliers are nice to have and definitely improve functionality. Finally, the screw driver is designed better than other models because it is offset when opened which allows it to be utilized in tighter spots. I will definitely be sticking with this model for the foreseeable future.

What I like about the Center Drive is that it has one handed spring loaded pliers, and all the tools lock while in use. I like the spring loaded pliers because it allows me to use with one hand should I need to keep my other hand on a ladder for stability. Non spring loaded pliers have had me bungling to use it and clamps shut requiring me to reopen with both hands. The highlight is the screwdriver which is highly functional that it extends like a regular screwdriver and the plus to having this that it is fully compatible with screw bit sets I already own from other tool sets. Glad it comes with a screw bit set holder that can fit in the included leather holster that I can interchange with more commonly used bits if there is a need to. I also like the feel and grip of the tool although it is a bit heavier than other multi tools, it is the evolution of this design that gives me confidence and control; it has led me to make the Center Drive my EDC tool over other products from other competitors that I own.

I have carried a Gerber multi plier 600 for the past 7 years or so, and it has lasted really well. I would say this tool is a decent upgrade. It has true one hand opening and closing, and can be flicked open. The fact the knife and driver can be accessed without opening the tool is also nice, and acts almost like a regular folding knife. The tool fits well in the hand. When extended, the pliers have a slight rattle to them, but so did my previous tool and it never affected function, but I would say it’s one of the few things I could ding this tool for at its price point. The other tools lock up nice and tight. The bit set is a great option to have, and the leather sheath it comes with is quite nice looking, albeit a bit stiff, but I’m sure it will break in with time. Hopefully it will give me another decade of service like my last Gerber multi tool.

I decided on this multitool after a lot of research, and chose it because of its simplicity (the pliers, knife, screwdriver, and mini scissors were most important functionality-wise for me). It is a great heavy duty tool that has been able to withstand daily use for numerous applications at my work. My only criticism would be the leather sheath that Gerber provided with the product. I had to buy a new one from a different company because after only a week of using it, the snap broke. The multitool itself is great, but for the price I paid, Gerber should at least include a higher quality sheath that won’t fall apart so quickly.
