I have several battery chargers that are all very similar and have almost identical features and form. The Gens ace Imars S100 G-Tech Series 100W Lipo Battery Charger is very different from those and I absolutely love it. I have several Gens Ace lipo batteries and thought this charger would be a great companion to them and I was correct. It comes it two colors, Black and White. The Gens ace Imars S100 G-Tech Series 100W Lipo Battery Charger is a smart charger so I do recommend pairing it up with the Gens Ace lipo batteries to take full advantage of the capabilities of the charger with the batteries. You will not need to do any manual settings as it will automatic identify G-Tech smart batteries and set the settings and start charging the battery. The charger is also fully compatible with non-smart batteries and is a 100W charger with a maximum of 10A. It has a simple GUI that is easy to navigate. The charger can be set to charge and discharge the battery packs and I can recommend the Gens ace Imars S100 G-Tech Series 100W Lipo Battery Charger!

Gens Ace makes the best chargers on the market. Nothing more, nothing less. This charger is well-constructed, solid, with intuitive controls, fast charging, and multiple options for storage/discharge/balance etc. as one would expect from this brand. This is my 3rd Gens Ace charger because they are the industry standard in my opinion. 5/5 would recommend this if you are looking for an excellent single battery charger.

It's amazing how small LiPo chargers have gotten. This one from Gens Ace is no exception, and it's pretty easy to use and efficient. I picked this up through Vine as I needed to replace my old Venom charger, and so far, it was worked very well. With that said, here are my thoughts:Two notes before I start: I do NOT have any Smart batteries, so this is solely used on dumb, or non-smart batteries, basically 90% of the RC batteries out there. This review will only be referring to non-Smart batteries. Second, I run 2S and 3S batteries and can't comment on efficiency for larger capacity batteries. This is a sleek looking unit, and small. Without using the included adaptors, this is set up to charge batteries with XT60 connectors. With the adaptors, you can then charge Deans and EC5 batteries. I plan on making an extension cable with XT60 ends so that I don't have to plug directly into the unit. I'm also going to buy a 3S battery balance connector extension because the only real issue I've been having is that I can't hook up a batter to the balance port under dim light. This is the only real drawback I have with this unit. The functionality of this charge is standard and in line with the "B6" style chargers: Charge, Balance charge, discharge, storage charge. 0.1Amp to 10Amp, the interface to change setting is basic but a little tedious because when you choose the amperage, it goes in 0.1 increments, so I could charge to 4.18, or 4.19, or 4.20 (as examples), and the unit does not store the last settings when powered down, so when you power it up, the battery size stays the same , but you have to manually choose Balance Charge as well as the voltage you want to end up at. Inconvenient but only takes about 20 second to set up. The settings don't change if you don't power down the charger. But, the menu is simple to understand and use.The unit did not generate much heat when charging a large 3S battery. It took the normal amount of time to charge as since I don't ever do a Quick Charge on Lipos. The beep when it ends is on the quiet side compared to the old Venom charger, but it beeps twice, and if not disconnected, it will continue to beep about every 30 seconds for maybe 4-5 minutes. My understanding is that if you have a Smart Battery that the unit will automatically sense the battery and current amount of juice in it and start charging when the battery is plugged in. I don't have one of these batteries to try this out, but that what I gleaned from the Amazon page and the instructions. So, worth your $70 for this charger? Kinda. It's a solid unit, does exactly what you want it to do, is a name brand charger, no real frills to it. BUT, if you use a lot of LiPos that don't have Deans, XT60, EC5 connectors, you'll need to make an adaptor or use a different charger. For example, I can't balance charge my small WPL batteries on this as they have JST connectors. If you have batteries with non-standard connectors, you might want to look elsewhere unless you have some soldering skills to make an adaptor.

I recieved the Gens Ace Imars S100 in black color. I am reviewing/comparing this to my old tenergy charger. To start, this charger comes in a regular box, with 3 different cable adapters, a usb cable, paper manual, and the power cable. Other than the plastic sleeve for the main unit, all of the packaging is easy to recycle cardboard. The unit has an onboard power supply, so the power cable is a simple C1 cord. No wall warts or charging bricks, a simple power cable. The screen is a real LCD screen, very unlike the usual 2 line character displays. It displays lots of information, and has real multipage menus and options. The unit has just about a 10 second startup time from when you plug the unit in.The button beeps are also a low pleasant note, not the short shriek noises I am usually accustomed to. One tiny flaw I noticed is that the electronic board inside the unit casing is only attached via 2 screws, diagonally under two of the rubber feet. The down button feels solid and good, but the middle and top buttons feel janky because it is not solidly attached to the casing. I am sure this doesn't affect the unit performance in any way, but you can feel the difference and it just doesn't feel great. The main battery connector is an XT60, which the unit comes with 3 different adapters. I feel like this is a good thing, since with my old charger that uses exposed plugs has the danger of the plugs touching if you mistakenly plug the adapter cables into the battery first and not the charging unit. The balance plug port is also great. Gens ace batteries have a special plug that can automatically read and set the parameters you need to charge battery super easy. You can use normal batteries as well, you just have to set the parameters manually as usual. The balance plug port is also modeled to where you can only insert the plug in the correct place and in the correct orientation. I have had too many times where I forget which way it goes or fumble it and plug it into the next set of pins. Actually charging a battery was simple, and this unit has 100W of power in the form of a max 10A. Discharging is limited to 5W.The unit has a little flip out stand, presumably to see the screen better. Though you really dont need it for that as the screen is so good, it does not suffer from contrast loss when looking at the screen from an angle. In all a great charger. The only thing I would think would have made this better would be more power source options, like usb-c or 12v dc plug.
