I've been considering getting a fitness watch for a while. What's put me of, and thousands of others I suspect, has been the need to charge it every few days, the variety & complexity of features - and the cost.Vívofit 4 is the complete opposite. The inbuilt replaceable battery will keep the device running for a year or more.Secondly, it's easy to use with a good range of nice basic features that will satisfy all but the real fitness experts. Then again, modern smart phones have a lot of fitness features baked in anyway. So I see little point in duplicating these on a smart watch.Vívofit 4 is comfortable, waterproof, has a smart discreet design with a colour screen & a back light. And, price wise, it's well under £100!Feature wise, it does a surprising amount. It will auto detect a number of activities, monitor sleep, tell you to move if you're being idle too long & help you to set activity goals. It'll even find your phone! The supporting Garmin Connect app is like the watch - well designed & intuitive. I also use Health Sync which enables me to sync the Vívofit data with Google Fit where, separately, I record things like heart rate, BP & weight. So, if you're looking for a good quality, easy to use, no need to charge & well designed watch with a good range of basic features, I would strongly recommend you take a look at the Vívofit 4.

The 1 year battery life is what brought me to the Vivofit4 after my Fitbit eventually died after long term hard use. It counts steps (main purpose) and monitors Sleep ( secondary purpose). Steps counting is a bit 'jumpy' with wild numbers indicated on the device until eventually settling. REM has not appeared at all. Date format on the device stubbornly refuses to change from Month/Day to day/month. Disappointed. It will be returned.
