My old steering wheel was really showing wear after 100k miles, and it was starting to separate. I have always tried to keep my truck looking like everything was installed from the factory and was not interested in the slip-on steering wheel covers that you get from the auto stores. I got really excited when I saw this sew-on cover for my truck. The directions are definitely lacking in details, and I had to do a lot of internet searching to figure out which side faces the front of the steering wheel since the front and back of the cover are cut differently. I got the cover lined up and started stitching. I have done a fair amount of sewing in the past and stitching this cover is not difficult, but it does take patience, and you need to pay attention to keeping equal tension you are working your way around. The bottom half of the steering wheel went without any issues, although I do wish the cover was just slightly narrower to avoid overlapping of the cut edges when you pull the thread tight. When I was stitching the top half is where I started to run into issues. The stitches along the edge of the cover we slightly misaligned and were causing the red stripe to not line up. It took a couple of double stitches to get the red stripe to line up perfectly. When it comes to the ends, around the steering wheel controls, the cover is quite loose and the number of stitches did not match with the front and back of the cover. In other words, there were extra stitches on the back side that did not have corresponding stitches on the front. Not a huge issue, but it resulted in a small bulging wrinkle on the inside corner of both the right and left side (yellow arrow in the picture). I did my best to tuck as much of the excess material under the trim, but I have not been able to get the wrinkle out completely. You can't really see the wrinkle, but you can feel the wrinkle sticking up with your fingers when you grab that part of the wheel. Not a deal breaker by any means, but not quite perfect. The installation took a little over two hours but I am happy with the final product. It looks and feels like it came that way from the factory and I think it will last for another 100k miles. I absolutely recommend this cover but dedicate plenty of time for the install.

I went through four different steering well covers that said they would fit, but did not, no matter how much I warmed them up, they would not go over my wheel. Then I saw this, at first it reminded me of the wrap around vinyl steering wheel cover they had in the 70s. I then read a bit more and though I would give it a try. I ordered it, then took my time, about an afternoon of a couple of hours, and sewn it on my wheel. Wow, not only does it look great, but it is comfortable to the touch, doesn't slide around, and it looks like it came with the truck, it doesn't look aftermarket at all all. Really it was pretty easy to install, I just took my time and in a couple of hours it was done. I also like the fact that it comes with all that is needed to make the install.

Ordered this for my ram 2500 and the bottom is unfinished, no way to stitch it on and doesn't reach fully around the grip.

This is a nice upgrade for my former construction truck turned family RV trailer puller. It is well made and fit correctly. The steering wheel is now more comfortable.Installation was very difficult and time consuming. Maybe it was just my particular truck? It took me about 3 hours to complete between a few different sessions.

Just to be clear this is NOT a steering wheel nor is it a ready to use cover, its the fabric and some needles and thread. You have to carefully stitch it on to the steering wheel yourself, which is very tedious and time consuming, and unless you are an expert at doing this it's not going to look good. I don't think I will keep this on the truck for very long, or I might see if I can get someone to re-do the stitching because the fake leather fabric is at least better than a worn-out rubber wheel, but unless you really stitch this tight it's not going to look very good.
