Like most economy chinese electronic gadgets, these don't come with any instructions. So please read the connection diagrams shown in the product you need to find in the amazon search bar: FTVOGUE Auto Digital Counter DC LED Digital Display 4 Digit 0-9999 Up/Down Plus/Minus Panel Counter Meter with Cable(Red)Otherwise you may destroy the unit.But in a nutshell, the count up or down respectively happens when you make contact of either the blue or black wire to wire 3. To clear the count touch wire 4 and wire 3 together.Under no circumstance apply the supply voltage to either of the terminals listed above, you'll immediately damage the circuit.

This works good, however it is very sensitive, so when you connect the wires by hand to test it it can skip a lot of numbers due to switch-bounce. When hooked up to an industrial foot switch I noticed it was a lot more stable however it would randomly skip 1 number here and there when pressing the foot switch.The Way I solved this is using a little RP-2040-Zero from Waveshare to take in the foot switch input then software filter it and output a stable single pulse to the counter. Basically need to have a de-bounced input switch for this counter to increment or decrement reliably. It also saves the current numbr when you disconnect power.I really like this device and once you give it a "proper" input signal then it behaves prooperly as expected.
