I run a lot of ash and oak through my planer and these blades held up very good and kept a very sharp edge for awhile.

Freud is a high quality brand - one of my brands of choice. Easy to install. Very sharp. Quality product. Makes my 20 year old planer perform like new.

I am using them in my Grizzly 15'' planner and they work great. I purchased based on the Freud name because I have purchased several of their 10" saw blades and have been really impressed. I am very happy with these knives, they seem to hold their edge pretty good, I mainly use hard woods like oak and hickory. I have found that hickory really needs carbide knives so the next time I go down that road with milling some hickory I will splurge and get some carbide knives because running hickory over these knives dulled them out pretty quickly. For doing pine, oak, & cherry these have worked just fine and I think they will last just as long as any other HSS knives on the market.
