I may be between sizes with these because I tried 2 different sizes. One was too small the other was too big. The gloves work well overall, but need to be broken in especially on the thumb. I’ve worn them in 4 spartan races so far and they have held up well. The grip could be better, but so could my grip strength.

These gloves are built specifically for the Spartan races. So glad I got them. Without these I would not have been able to complete many of the obstacles I did. I even took them off and let people borrow them to be able to get across. They fit nicely and don't constrict anything. I have a hand that's perfectly in the middle of large and medium sizes. I got medium and would recommend them for people on the edge of sizes. They fit great and survived 20 obstacles, we'll see how many more they can.

They work well when they're not wet.. afterwards I didn't notice much benefit

Gloves work fine as long as they're dry, but once you get in mud/water, they stay slippery. So definitively not good for a spartan race.

The Franklin Sports Spartan Race Multi 1.0 OCR Glove Pair (seriously now) is a solid pair of gloves for a variety of uses. For me, I use them on my e-scooter, and feel it's a great use for them. I can still stop and use my phone because my finger tips are exposed, and it means I can more easily "feel" the index-finger throttle on the e-scooter, something that's tricky when you have your finger tips covered, a situation where throttle control can be tougher to modulate smoothly. That said, the factory packaging of this was probably the most annoying thing I've ever encountered: These gloves come with a carabiner, and the carabiner is taped up so it doesn't open. The tape had no obvious end to unravel, so it required some surgical procedure to cut the tape off, which was far more frustrating than you could ever imagine, given how tight the tape was on the carabiner hinge. Why, Franklin? Why?Aside from this one issue, everything else is pretty good. Fit and finish on these gloves is solid. I had a few loose seams around the wrist but nothing too terrible, and easily trimmed off in just a second. Padding is solid, and overall comfort is good. These are by no means remarkable gloves, but they're comfortable and will suit a myriad of uses, and I'll continue to use these on my scooter!4 stars out of 5. Good.
