I really like this FNRSI Soldering Iron Kit 100W with 3 Soldering Tips. New soldering irons like this are the revolution of the tinkerers’ world. Being able to power it with just a USB-C cable and brick makes soldering a much easier task than old clunky soldering iron base stations, or cheap AC powered soldering irons that take a long time to warm up.Comparatively, this warms up in seconds. I’ve timed it and it takes three seconds to go from 0 to 750°FIt comes in a neat, easy to carry carrying case with extra soldering tips, a little stand, and its cable. This is easy to put in a work bag or store away in a drawer in your workshop. It’s built out of a metal, I assume is zinc, which makes it feel nice and weighted in the hand. The screen is a nice color display that gives you real-time information on temperature and voltage. Navigating the menus is extremely simple and intuitive, so that even a beginner can easily follow.

On the positive side, this iron heats up very fast. I used it to splice some wiring and it worked great. The temp setting and readout are easy to read and set, and it comes with a nice assortment of tips. On the down side it does have to be plugged in to a pretty every duty wall wart via USB C cable. (both of which are supplied of course) however the case for the iron doesn't accommodate the wall wart, so it could be easy for them to get separated. I would mostly suggest this would be best suited for a fix station where things aren't going to get packed up and moved around on a regular basis. I don't have such a station set up at the moment but once I do that will be its home. For onsite and daily use I tend to prefer a butane iron which is cordless and very portable. But at a work station I could see this being my goto.

as someone who repairs their own salon equipment & builds custom PCs as a hobby, i've used a lot of soldering irons over the years & this one is seriously impressive. my old iron finally died after 8 years of service & this is a major upgrade in every way.first thing i noticed was the build quality - feels substantial & professional grade. the digital temperature display is clear & easy to read even in my somewhat dimly lit workbench area in the garage. heat up time is FAST - literally about 2 seconds from cold to ready which is a game changer when you're trying to make quick repairs between salon clients.temperature control is precise & stable - stays exactly where you set it without those frustrating fluctuations that cause cold joints or burnt components. the preset temperature groups are actually useful rather than gimmicky - i use the lowest for delicate electronics in styling tools, medium for general connections, & highest for thicker gauge wiring in my garage projects.the iron is well balanced & comfortable to hold even during longer repair sessions. recently had to rewire some connections in my salon hood dryers & spent about 2 hours soldering - no hand fatigue at all which was a pleasant surprise. the silicone cable stays flexible even in my cold pennsylvania garage which is a huge improvement over my old iron with its stiff cable.the included tips are high quality & the kit comes with everything needed to get started right away. iron comes to temperature so quickly that i can now fix minor equipment issues during lunch breaks without having to schedule dedicated repair time after hours.my husband borrowed it to fix some connections on his truck's tail light assembly & was impressed enough that he's stopped using his ancient soldering iron completely. even my 16-year-old stepdaughter used it for a school electronics project & commented on how much easier it was to use than the ones in their lab.if you do any kind of electronics repair or hobby work, this iron is absolutely worth the investment. the quality, features & performance are on par with irons costing twice as much. wish i'd upgraded years ago instead of struggling with temperature inconsistencies & slow heat-up times. this has completely streamlined my equipment maintenance routine.

Wow what a great mobile soldering iron. I use this frequently for doing wiring jobs in my automobile and it beats trying to run extension cords. It gets hot quickly and I have had NO PROBLEMS with using it outdoors.I also use it at my desk to make "stitch markers" for my wife's knitting projects.

Pros:- Pretty light-weight.- Heats very quickly.- Tips are quick to interchange (obviously when they are cool and unit is off).‐ Tip tins well, but can be difficult to scrape if it gets too hot.- Power brick and USB-C cable feel of good quality.Cons:- USB-C cable feels restrictive for movement if you aren't right next to an outlet.- No brass wire to clean tips.- Charger and cable require their own storage, so if you lose either you're out of luck, barring the extra barrel jack powrr connector.- USB‐C cable does not 100% it in the solder iron side, so it has gone crooked a bit and stopped powering the charger. Keeping slack on it is nessessary.Would I buy this myself...? Probably not without seeing reviews raving over it. The portability is nice to use as a travel kit, but it is not suited for larger components like a normal iron is which can dump more power into a joint.
