Purchased a knock off Berkey water filter system, 2 gallon. The system worked okay but the flavor of the water wasn't great with the filters it came with. I bought these, followed the rinse procedure, water was excellent! Highly recommend.

I ordered these replacement filters to create an emergency bucket water filtration system in case we have trouble getting filtered water at some point. These filters are easy to work with and come with instructions on how to prime them. I used all 4 filters. The fluoride filters fit into the bottom of the black carbon filters, and so the water goes through both filters. I especially wanted fluoride filtration because our tap water is fluoridated (and likely to remain so unless laws change). One thing I do notice is that while I can fill the top reservoir to capacity, the water will stop dripping through the filters as soon as the water in the dispensing tank touches the bottom of the fluoride filters, so while I can put 3 gallons of water in the filtration tank, I can only get around a gallon or so of filtered water at a time in the dispensing tankThe water tastes pure and while there’s a lot of chlorine smell in the top tank when I pour it in and it sits, the water that is dispensed has no chlorine taste or smell at all. I’m really pleased, and was delighted to have a NSF certification on these filters, guaranteeing their efficacy, and showing that they’re 3rd party tested.

These work great and we have been using them for years. You will occasionally have to take the filters out to clean gently depending on how contaminated your water is that you put in. I have been amazed at how contaminated our city water is as I have had to clean filters at least two or three times before having to replace them. They are cheaper than the ones directly from Berkey but work just the same. You can put a test run of food color in if you are not sure if they are still filtering and if color comes through to the tank holding water…replace them.
