This is great vacuum for use in remodeling. (I guess the correct term is 'dust extractor") Great for use with sanders. It is powerful , at the same time it is light weight, easy to maneuver, has a very long and light weight hose. Very strong air flow, which works extremely well with keeping dust to near zero when used with a quality sander, such as Festool.I have a Festool 'dust extractor' as well. However, the Fein is at least as good, if not better, and cost about half. Yes it cost a lot more than a basic wet-dry vac. If a basic wet dry is what you are after, then this may not be for you. If however, you are looking for something to use with attaching to sanders, or your tracksaw, this will give you superior performance over a basic wet-dry.If you are on the fence on this one, go for it. You will not be disappointed.

Compact. Quiet. Sucks like an anteater on steroids.Bags could be less expensive, but each fill up takes quite awhile.Be careful what you sweep around. If you don't want a part ending up in the trash, pick it up before you sweep or this thing will pick it up.It's expensive, albeit, well worth the price. I do wish they would package the accessories with the machine and you just swallow a little harder when you buy the whole thing.

This thing is WAY better than my old shop vac. Maybe 1/10th of the dust I used to see hit the floor. It runs quiet and the bag keeps dust tight inside. The addition of the outlet on the front for tools is also a nice touch. I highly recommend this!

I purchased the Fein Turbo 1 after researching quiet shop vacs and shop dust collection systems online. It was one of the few that actually gave a decibel rating. My old shop vac ran at 97 decibels, which required ear protection. The Fein is rated at 67 decibels. My phone-based app reads it at 74 decibels, but that's still much better than 97! I don't even feel the need to wear ear protection with it.I find this smaller Fein shop vac to be every bit as powerful as my old, much larger shop vac. The supplied 1 1/4" vacuum hose chokes it down and makes it a bit quieter, but, to my surprise, I could attach a 2 1/4" hose end to it without an adapter. The inlet is designed to accept the Fein twist-lock fitting, but the larger hose fittings will friction fit just fine. I'm surprised Fein doesn't advertise that fact. Maybe it's because they have a pricey set of accessories they want to sell.If you are hoping to use this unit for liquid pick-up, it will only be efficient for very small spills. When the liquid reaches the shut-off contacts, you will have less than 2 gallons in the tank - far less than the 3.4 gallons advertised. The Turbo 1 uses a fleece bag to catch the vast majority of dust, etc., but it also has an automotive-type pleated paper filter above the bag. The bags are a little pricey but they are much cheaper than paper filters. I use my Turbo 1 with an Oneida Dust Deputy cyclone unit in my basement wood shop. The Dust Deputy catches 99% of the sawdust and the fleece bag catches the rest. Very little dust ever makes it to the paper filter. The Turbo 1 is compact and has an integrated bin on top to hold small accessories or tools. It has worked out great for my application.Update!I have used this Fein shop vac for over a year now, and it has held up very well. Using it in conjunction with my Oneida Dust Deputy, I have collected several 5-gallon buckets of sawdust in that time. The fleece bag eventually collects enough very fine dust that performance is affected, especially if you use it with a palm sander. The bag will last a very long time if you're only collecting larger sawdust from saws. The paper filter is still the original, and still looks pristine.I love the accessory electrical outlet feature. I can plug in any tool requiring 6 amps or less. When I start the tool, the vac comes on automatically. It stops 15 seconds after I turn the tool off.

Great vacuum, high quality, long hose, good suction, and much quieter that regular shop vacuums.
